UPDATED: 50-year-old motorcyclist involved in accident that killed 15-year-old Saint-André youth has died

RCMP announce death in news release on Sept. 29

The driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle involved in the collision, where a 15-year-old boy died in Saint-André on Thursday, Sept. 25, has died. The Grand Falls man was transported to the hospital after an accident between a motorcycle and a bicycle.

On Thursday, Sept. 25, at approximately 6:30 p.m., members of the Saint-Léonard RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a bicycle on St. André Road in Saint-André. The driver and sole occupant of the bicycle, a 15-year-old boy, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle, a 50-year-old man from Grand Falls, was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries and later died.

The collision is believed to have occurred after both the motorcycle and the bicycle were travelling southbound.

Members of the Drummond and Saint-André Fire Departments, Ambulance New Brunswick, and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene.

A member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office also attended the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
