Will Belyea announces candidacy for Woodstock Ward 2 council seat
Bedell resident Will Belyea issued a statement on Sept. 23, announcing
his plans to seek the Ward 2 council seat for Woodstock in the Nov. 28
municipal election.
Belyea’s statement follows:
“For the upcoming municipal election, I’m excited for the opportunity to
run for councillor in the LSD of Bedell, Ward 2, Entity 1275.
“Growing up in Woodstock, this had always been a future interest of
mine. For the past 11 years, I’ve lived in Bedell and didn’t think this
would be possible until this new amalgamated format was presented.
“I feel this new election gives a needed voice to those who live outside
Woodstock but use it as their main service area.
“With the current changes in place, I see this as a great opportunity to
assist my local area, but also continue to be a part of the town I was
born and raised in. Those in the outlying areas use Woodstock services
and facilities frequently and deserve representation.
“I’ve had the opportunity to be involved with Minor Hockey for over 20
years, and with young children involved in sports, I hope to continue
volunteering.
“I see those living in the Bedell area as very fortunate. It’s quiet and
rural yet very close to the main hub of Woodstock and all of its
amenities. I look forward to getting to know even more who live in this
area. I intend to be available with any questions or concerns, so we can
navigate this new electoral format and opportunities together.”
