Live wrestling and boxing events expecting large, excited crowds
The highly anticipated Old Home Week wrestling and boxing events are back. The fun begins with wrestling on Thursday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. in the ARY Motor Centre Fieldhouse in Woodstock. The week’s big boxing matches will be on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m.
Wrestling tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children under 12. Boxing tickets are $25 and $275 for reserved tables.
Old Home Week committee member Scott Seeley is organizing both events. He’s encouraging people to dress up as their favourite wrestlers on Thursday for an even more exciting night. The wrestling matches include plenty of guy-and-girl matches and a super exciting ‘big brawl.’
Seeley says he loves the interaction between the wrestlers and the crowd.
“The wrestling crowd is entertaining, and the wrestlers do a great job and show- they interact with them,” said Seeley.
Saturday’s boxing will begin with a youth boxing match and progress to the headliner between Josh “The Boss” Melvin and Shawn Andrew Thomas.
