RCMP had asked public to stay away from an area in Mapledale

At 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, the RCMP announced on social media that a police operation on the Hodgdon Road between Bedell Settlement Road and Teed Road was now over.

Earlier in the evening, the Western Valley RCMP notified residents that officers were on the scene of a police operation in Mapledale, near Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation). The post asked people to avoid a section of Hodgdon Road in Mapledale.

“Please avoid the area and allow police to work,” the original post said. “We will provide more information when we are able to.”
