Gathering of the Scots weekend starts with popular event

Mighty war horses, pint-sized rugby players and the stirring, soulful sounds of bagpipers brought Celtic pride to Perth-Andover streets to help celebrate the Gathering of the Scots’ 25th anniversary.

Rod MacIntosh, chairman of the annual event, said the parade, which took place on Friday, June 5, has grown in popularity since its inception three years ago.

“The parade has been modest, but the organizers worked hard, and the town really got on board this year. We had a great parade and I’m sure it will be bigger and better next year,” MacIntosh said.
