Woodstock dentist Dr. Kent Orlando now chairs the New Brunswick Dental Society (NBDS) board.
The society’s LinkedIn profile says the regulatory body, which began in 1890, promotes professional growth, high ethical standards, and quality care through communication, education, and regulation of dentistry in New Brunswick.
Orlando attended Dalhousie University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in 1993 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1998.
Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, the society’s announcement said Dr. Orlando was drawn to small-town charm and quickly fell in love with Carleton County. He has been practicing dentistry in Woodstock since graduating from dental school. In February 2011, he opened First Town Dental at its current location on 255 Connell Street, and in 2016, he welcomed Dr. Alex Wishart as his partner in the practice.
Dr. Orlando remains engaged in his community as a member of the Woodstock Rotary Club and the Meduxnekeag River Association. Professionally, he is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Fredericton Dental Society, the New Brunswick Dental Society, and the Canadian Dental Association. He received an Honorary Membership in 2024, the NBDS’s highest distinction.
Dr. Orlando is married to his wife, Tammy, and together they have two daughters, Lily and Madeline. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, canoeing and kayaking, cycling, skiing, tying flies, and fishing.
