Since the first week of July, Maryann Walker has accepted artwork from children and adults throughout the River Valley who are excited to display their art at Old Home Week.
Expect excellent handwork, such as cross-stitch, sewing, woodwork, pottery, and gardening.
“Old Home Week is like a museum of local people’s talent,” said Walker.
The Hobby Show also has a First Nations display that showcases the beautiful art of the First Nations peoples of Carleton County.
Walker says she can not wait to see the smiles of those who submitted their work.
“The pride – it’s pretty cute. People are so proud of what they’ve done,” said
Walker and her team are excited about the two new events added this year.
The LEGO Creation Contest will begin Wednesday and runs until Saturday and will be held twice daily at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The Potato Head Contest is held daily and will run throughout the day.
The Hobby Show is open to the public from 1 to 10 p.m. daily until Saturday.
