Destiny Dawn Innis, 23, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Oct. 30 for a bail hearing in front of a crowded courtroom.

The bail hearing on a charge of attempted murder was adjourned until Nov. 5 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of Defence Counsel T.J. Burke.

Judge Leslie Jackson told Innis she would remain in custody at Miramichi until her next court appearance.

Innis appeared emotional and told the court she loved her family, many of whom were seated in the front row of the courtroom. Friends of the victim were also in attendance.

The Woodstock Police Force charged Innis in connection with a violent attack on a 74-year-old woman who suffered serious injuries after she was stabbed on Oct. 20 in her home on Houlton Street.
