WorkSafeNB Investigating
An employee with BID Canada Ltd. – McDonough Manufacturing has died.
“WorkSafeNB is sad to confirm a workplace fatality in Woodstock yesterday, March 25,” a company spokesperson said in an emailed statement.
“Our condolences go out to the worker’s family, friends, and workplace. The worker, a machine operator, was employed by McDonough Manufacturing Company.”
The company is located on Hemlock Street in Lower Woodstock.
WorkSafeNB Corporate Communications Manager Lynn Meahan-Carson wrote that as this is “an active investigation, we cannot release any further details, and, in accordance with both the Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RTIPPA) and the Personal Health Information Privacy and Access Act (PHIPPA), we can’t release any personal information, such as a worker’s age, or personal health information.”
In a social media post, the Woodstock company acknowledged the loss.
“BID Canada Ltd. can confirm that an employee passed away following an incident at our facility,” read the Facebook post. “We are deeply saddened by this loss, and our thoughts are with the individual’s family, friends, and coworkers during this difficult time.”
The announcement also said that the appropriate authorities had been notified, and an investigation is currently underway.
“We are fully cooperating with those authorities. Out of respect for the individual and their family, we will not be providing further details at this time.”
