Brayden Collicott announced his bid to seek the Ward 4 seat in the Nov. 28 election for the new municipality of Lakeland Ridge.
Collicott announced his candidacy in a statement as follows:
“I am very excited to announce that I will be running for councillor of Ward 4 in the new municipality of Lakeland Ridges.
“Although I am young, municipal politics has been an interest of mine as it is the face of the community where we can make a true impact.
“I know that with this new local government reform, our community has many opportunities to develop. I see this, and I know that many people in our community see this, making it one of the many reasons I want to run in this election.
“I want to be a voice for our community and someone you know you can count on to take your concerns seriously.
“I also want to run to put love and compassion back into politics. We all know that politics can be polarizing, but I want to change that. I hope that the members of my community and surrounding communities will give me the opportunity to represent them and our beautiful community.
“It’s time to listen to the members of our communities and let them have a voice.
