Prom and graduation events fill the calendar
Families and friends of graduates will be all smiles this week. The Upper River Valley is packed with special events celebrating Grade 12 students.
In Nackawic, prom is set for Tuesday, June 17, with students expected to start arriving at Nackawic High School (NHS) around 6 p.m. Graduation for 59 students at NHS is set for the Nackawic Arena on Thursday, June 19, at 6 p.m.
Canterbury events get underway with the prom happening Monday, June 16, at 7 p.m. With 13 graduates this year, their parade begins at 6:45 at the Canterbury High School cafeteria. Graduation is set for Wednesday, June 18, at 6 p.m. at the Canterbury Community Centre.
Woodstock High School graduates will head to prom on Tuesday, June 17. The car parade leaves NBCC for the AYR Motor Centre at 6 p.m., with the Grand March beginning at 7 p.m., with safe grad starting right afterward.
Hartland graduates begin their festivities with prom on Monday, June 16. The motorcade will leave Walton’s Car Wash at 7 p.m., with the Grand March immediately following at Hartland Community School. Graduation ceremonies for 30 graduates take place on Wednesday, June 18.
Carleton North High School will host their prom on Tuesday, June 17, and their graduation on Thursday, June 19. The school has 118 graduates celebrating this year.
In Perth-Andover, the Southern Victoria High School (SVHS) prom was organized by parents, not the school, this year. That event was held on Saturday, June 14. Safe Grad festivities are on Monday, June 16, at 6 p.m. at SVHS. Graduation this year will be on Friday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at the SVHS gym.
