Car crash at Woodstock-Houlton border under investigation

Vehicle comes to a stop dangerously close to border station

The Woodstock RCMP and Woodstock Fire Department responded to a car accident at the Woodstock-Houlton border crossing on Highway 95 on Thursday night, June 26.

At approximately 10 p.m., a small silver Honda with Maine license plates crashed on the American side of Belleville’s Canadian Border Services Agency station.

Sgt. James Gallant with the Western Valley RCMP said the vehicle rolled and landed roof down in the second lane on the south side of the border station.

A Canadian Border Services Agency spokesperson said no one was injured during the crash.

There was little to no traffic at the border at the time of the accident. There is no word on whether charges are pending. The incident remains under investigation by the RCMP.
