Position change fills assistant clerk position
A year of staffing troubles that have plagued the District of Carleton North appears to be over. At the April 9 District of Carleton North council meeting, Mayor Andrew Harvey and council members welcomed Amy McIntosh as the new CAO, effective immediately.
McIntosh had been working as the district administrative manager, but in October, she stepped up and started filling in for the newly vacated CAO role.
Mayor Harvey noted that it became evident she had the necessary qualifications to fulfill the role. So, Councillor Angel Connor presented the motion to hire McIntosh, which was met with a unanimous decision in favour of her appointment.
“I work with her every day and I’m very impressed with the commitment she brings to the table along with her openness and communication. I know that the staff appreciates the leadership that she brings. We’re very honoured and pleased to have her,” said Harvey.
Following McIntosh’s appointment as CAO, councillor Chala Watson moved to appoint Rayma Rediker as Assistant Clerk. Rediker has worked for the District as an Administration Coordinator since June 2023. She will work closely with McIntosh and assist her as needed.
