Blaze destroys structure in downtown Woodstock

Firefighters from Woodstock worked hard to get a structure fire under control in downtown Woodstock as the windchill hovered around -20 celsuis.

The fire, which engulfed a home on Charlotte Street, broke out before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Emergency officials on the scene believe everyone in the building got out before firefighters arrived.

There is no word on how the fire started. An excavator is being brought in to tear down what remains of the building.

The River Valley Sun will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.
