Event to raise money for Forest City International Cemetery Association
On Saturday, Aug. 2, from 8 to 10 a.m., there will be a breakfast at the Community Hall, Fosterville, Route 122, 4426, sponsored by the Forest City International Cemetery Association.
There will be eggs, sausages, bacon, panacks, and more. Entry is by donation.
At one time, both Forest City, N.B., and Forest City, Maine, had separate burial sites. Because the “two” communities were in reality one community staddling the international boundary, it made sense to combine the two cemeteries. When this occurred is unknown, but it is likely in the late 1800s or early 1900s. (Quote on Find a Grave website)
