Veteran Woodstock councillor Jeff Bradbury announced his plans to re-offer one of the four Woodstock riding seats on the expanded Woodstock council.
His statement is as follows.
“I would like to announce that I will be re-offering for council in the upcoming municipal election.
“The next four years will be challenging for sure, and along with the amalgamation, I would like to bring my nine years of experience back to the council table.
“My priorities over the next four years will be as follows:
“– Affordable housing. Whether new construction or renovating a current building, this must be a priority.
” — Roads-underground infrastructure. There needs to be a paving plan going forward, along with repairing any pipes underneath to cut back on the number of water breaks.
” — Active transportation. This would include a walking/cycling route along Deakin, along with the upkeep and expanding current trails.
” — New fire hall and police station. Over the last few years, the fire department has added several new pieces of equipment, which need to be kept under one roof. The police department has been growing as well, and there is a possibility that they might be taking on a larger role.
“My volunteer work within the community includes volunteer firefighter, Rotary Club member and one of the organizers of Ribfest.”
