Woodstock Communities in Bloom Committee seeking nominees for beautification awards and prizes
Woodstock residents who know someone who deserves recognition for their gardening expertise or efforts to beautify their communities can now nominate them for the attention they deserve.
Woodstock’s Communities in Bloom committee recently announced the nomination process opening for its Nominate Your Neighbour! Program.
“Impressed with your neighbour’s green thumb, their organized flower beds and garden, or their overall well kept yard and decor? Honour their hard work and pride in their home and community by nominating them today,” the committee said in a media release and on social media.
The committee explained residents can nominate a neighbour by emailing info@town.woodstock.nb.ca and including the neighbour’s name, address, category, and a brief description of what they love about their home.
The contest includes three categories.
- Flowers and garden
- Artwork and decor
- Overall appearance
The committee said nominations will close on Aug. 11, adding that chosen winners would receive awards and prizes.
Communities in Bloom is a national organization designed, as the Woodstock committee outlines on its Facebook page, “to foster community strength, involvement and continuous improvement.”
Woodstock joined the program this year, entering the provincial Communities in Bloom program for the first time.
