Woman sentenced to 90 days, man in custody awaiting court appearance
A man from Keswick Ridge has been arrested, and a woman from the same area has been charged in connection with several incidents in the Nackawic and Millville areas. The two individuals were also arrested for multiple outstanding warrants.
On Sept. 24, members of the Keswick RCMP received numerous reports from community members regarding two prolific offenders in the Nackawic and Millville areas.
Later that day, police located the two individuals behind a business in the Burtts Corner area. After a short foot pursuit, police arrested a 26-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, both from Keswick Ridge, in connection with the investigation.
As a result of the arrests, police searched several abandoned properties and recovered a stolen side-by-side vehicle, as well as various power tools and outdoor equipment.
The 26-year-old man was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
On Sept. 29, 32-year-old Olivia Young appeared in Fredericton Provincial Court and was sentenced to 90 days in jail.
“It’s a good idea to record serial numbers and take photos of your belongings”, said Sgt. André Lauzon of the Keswick RCMP. “Then stolen items are recovered during an investigation, having that information makes it much easier for us to return property to its rightful owner.”
