Man arrested following recovery of stolen vehicle, property

RCMP make an arrest and search a Lakeville property

The Western Valley Region RCMP reported the arrest of a 27-year-old man following the recovery of a stolen vehicle and other stolen property in Lakeville, a community between Woodstock and Centreville. 

In a news release, the RCMP reported that the detachment received a report at approximately 2 p.m. on Aug. 4 about a stolen vehicle located at a residence on Route 560 in Lakeville.

Upon arrival, police discovered the stolen vehicle and arrested the man without incident. Following the arrest, police discovered other stolen property at the residence.

The RCMP obtained and executed a search warrant on the property, recovering several items related to other ongoing theft investigations in the Western Valley Region.

The court remanded the arrested man into custody, who was later released on conditions. He will attend Woodstock Provincial Court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
