Millville woman dies after collision

Accident occurred in Nortondale Monday morning

A 53-year-old Millville woman is dead after a head-on collision in Nortondale on Monday, Oct. 20.

Members of the Western Valley Region RCMP, Ambulance New Brunswick, and the Millville Fire Department responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Route 585 at approximately 8:20 a.m.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), travelling westbound, crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a pickup truck, travelling eastbound.

The Millville woman, who was the sole occupant of the SUV, was transported to the hospital, where she later died as a result of her injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck sustained what were believed to be minor injuries.

An RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist attended the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the woman’s exact cause of death.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
