Building arrived to much excitement from URVH foundation members and staff on Tuesday

A modular accommodation unit was delivered to Horizon Health on Tuesday, Nov. 18, and will be installed at the Upper River Valley Hospital (URVH) in the coming days.

The building, which arrived from Quebec, arrived shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

The unit will house a permanent state-of-the-art 1.5 Tesla MRI device. Horizon Health said the new MRI will help alleviate wait times for MRI scans in the province.

In the fall of 2023, the Upper River Valley Hospital Foundation announced it had reached its $3 million fundraising goal to purchase the unit and building.

A generous family donation secured $1.4 million for the unit, and community donations helped raise the $1.6 million needed for the modular accommodation building.

More to come….
