Final weigh-in at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16
The Town of Woodstock announced a new partnership with the New Brunswick Bass Tour (NBBT), bringing a premier bass fishing competition to the Saint John River. The Crush City / Doiron Outfitters NBBT Woodstock Open, presented by Legend Boats, LJ Patterson Sales, and Mercury Marine, will debut on Saturday, Aug. 16, with a guaranteed $10,000 cash first prize for the winning team.
“Woodstock has long been a supporter of our sport, and with this new partnership, we’re working to solidify New Brunswick as a top destination for both competitive fishermen and recreational anglers,” said Donald Patterson, Tournament Director of the NBBT. “This event is not only about world-class fishing, but also about engaging the community and showcasing our province’s incredible natural resources.”
“We are excited to welcome the NB Bass Tour to our town,” said Woodstock Mayor Trina Jones. “The Woodstock Open will not only highlight the beauty of our waterfront and the quality of our local fishing, but also provide a boost to tourism, local businesses, and community pride. We look forward to seeing families, visitors, and anglers come together for an awesome event.”
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, there will be free, family-oriented activities along the waterfront by NBCC. Attendees can take part in a Kids Casting Contest, enjoy a barbecue fundraiser for Smith’s Dance Academy, and explore displays from Watershed Fishing Apparel, NBDNRE, UGONB, and more. Radio station 104 The Wave will be broadcasting live.
At 4 p.m. Saturday, all eyes will be on the final weigh-in to see which team claims the title of inaugural NBBT Woodstock Open Champions and walks away with the $10,000 cash prize.
