Accessibility lift to be installed at Nackawic Marina

At the June 16 meeting of the Nackawic-Millville Rural Community Council meeting, the council shared that an accessibility lift (EZ 2 Pool lift) will soon be installed at the Nackawic waterfront docks.

This equipment will assist individuals with accessibility challenges when getting in and out of boats. Mayor Tim Fox said the idea was brought to him by a fishing guide who takes veterans out on the water. Fox said Nackawic-Millville is the first municipality in the province to install such a lift.

Security fence installed at the Public Works garage

A security fence has been installed at the Public Works garage in Nackawic, but residents will still have access to the site during the day when the gates are open, so they can drop off scrap metal. Information about the change will soon be sent out to residents.

Grand opening of Millville baseball field

A grand opening to celebrate a new baseball field in Millville will be held on Sunday, July 20, at 1 p.m. The council will release more information on the event closer to the date.
