Kits will be picked up at noon today, Friday, May 16
NB Lung will be back in Perth-Andover this Friday, May 16, to collect radon test kits distributed last fall as part of a community health initiative.
Residents who received a test kit on November 5, 2024, are reminded to return their completed kits to the Ultramar station by 12 p.m. on Friday.
The kits will be collected by NB Lung and sent for laboratory analysis.
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can accumulate in homes and is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. Since the gas is invisible and odourless, testing is the only way to detect it.
“At NB Lung, our mission is Clean Air Everywhere. We thank the residents of Perth-Andover for participating in this important health initiative,” said Sarah Sherman, Environmental Programs Coordinator at NB Lung.
