Some wards hotly contested in the Upper River Valley
Nominations have closed for New Brunswick Municipal and District Education Council elections, scheduled for May 11.
Two Upper River Valley mayors have been acclaimed – Hartland Mayor Tracey DeMerchant and Nackawic-Millville Mayor Tim Fox.
Candidates who have changed their minds have until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 13, to withdraw their names.
Voter information cards are scheduled to be mailed on Monday, April 27.
Advance polls will be Saturday, May 2, and Monday, May 4. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days.
Election Day is Monday, May 11, and winners will be formally declared on Wednesday, May 13. If there are recounts in any district, the deadline to apply is May 21.
