by | Aug 11, 2023

People from North Lake and beyond will gather in Fosterville on Saturday, Aug. 12, to celebrate the community’s past and present.

Under the theme “Fabulous Fifties,” the North Lake Rec Department will host a series of events throughout the day, highlighted by a noon-hour parade. The lineup for the parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Lois Gould’s property.

Long-time lake area familiar faces, Mike and Judy Saunders, will serve as the 2023 Parade Marshalls.

Other activities at the recreation centre include a fireman’s hot dog sale and a vendors’ market starting at 11 a.m.

The day will offer a wide variety of activities for all ages, including Frisbee golf, Jenga, sidewalk chalk painting, rock painting and more. The court will be available for pickleball.

Live music will hit the stage at 1 p.m.

The day ends with a community supper for the cost of a donation. The menu includes roast pork tenderloins, oven-roasted potatoes, dressing, various salads, coffee, tea and dessert.
