Jade Ellen Rhymer of Hartland passed away at home on Saturday, May 17, 2025. She was born on July 6, 2023, in Fredericton.
In her short life, Jade managed to touch the hearts and lives of many people in New Brunswick and beyond as they followed her struggle with cancer. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Donald Biggar.
Jade is survived by her loving parents, Guy and Maxine Rhymer of Hartland; grandmothers, Dianna Biggar of Esdraelon Theresa Rhymer of Ireland; grandfather, Garry Doyle (Trish) of Ireland; uncles and aunts, John Boyle of Fredericton, Angela Smith of Mount Pleasant, Amanda Biggar of Fredericton, Gordon Biggar of PEI, Brendan Doyle (Aishling) of Ireland, Declan Doyle (Gavin Griffin) of Ireland; close friends, Andrew and Terri Herbert.
We would like to thank everyone for all of your support and prayers during these difficult months. A very special thank you to all of the doctors and staff at the IWK, Sick Kids Toronto, Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Upper River Valley Hospital, and Extra Mural. Your help and support will not be forgotten.
You will never know how much we appreciate all that you have done as we have travelled this journey that we have been called to take. To our community, friends and people all across Canada and around the world, we couldn’t have done it without you.
Your financial support, prayers and encouragement made it possible for both of us to stay with Jade all of these months, to hold her, love her and be with her until her final moments here on earth. It is a blessing from you that we will always cherish forever. Thank you again.
Visitation was held at the Britton Funeral Home, 2 High Street, Hartland, on Tuesday, May 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service was on Wednesday at 2 p.m.; Pastor Carl O’Donnell officiated.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the River Valley Cancer Support Group or DunRoamin’ Stray and Rescue.
