Police investigating two suspicious deaths in Knowlesville

Police say no threat to public; men knew each other

The RCMP is investigating the death of two senior men in Knowlesville.

In a Friday, Aug. 14, news release, the Western Valley Region RCMP said that on Aug. 12, officers responded to a report of two deaths on the Knowlesville Road at 9:49 p.m.

Once on scene, the RCMP say they discovered the bodies of a 68-year-old man and a 74-year-old man, both members of the community.

“The two men were known to each other, and there is no threat to public safety,” the release stated.

The Major Crime Unit is investigsting the deaths as suspicious.

The New Brunswick coroner’s office has scheduled autopsies to determine the cause of death.
