Quebec man dies in Carleton County crash

RCMP say the accident remains under investigation

A 77-year-old man from Bristol, Québec, has died following a single-vehicle crash in Summerfield, near Beechwood.

On Jan. 5, at approximately 11:17 a.m., members of the Western Valley Region RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 2 near Summerfield.

The crash is believed to have occurred when the vehicle lost control, left the roadway, and flipped onto its roof. The driver of the vehicle, a 77-year-old man, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. A passenger was transferred to the hospital with minor injuries.

Members of the Centreville Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, a member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office, and an RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
