Social media post about recent ticket, impounding of vehicle in Woodstock serves as a warning to drivers

In a social media post on the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in New Brunswick Facebook page on Saturday, Oct. 4, motorists were warned about excessive speeding.

“Yesterday (Friday, Oct. 3), this vehicle was stopped by the #RCMPNBTrafficUnit for travelling 167 km/hr in a 110km/hr zone on Hwy 2 (Trans Canada Highway) in #Woodstock,” the post reads. “The driver was issued a $604.50 fine, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days at the owner’s expense. #SlowDown

Recently, the Western Valley RCMP have used recent tickets and photos of vehicles being towed as an ‘incentive’ for motorists to slow down on the highway. Not only does it cost, as stated in a previous post, but it’s also dangerous.
