The police release a photo of a vehicle of interest in its investigation of a Chipman-area car fire and two deaths
The New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit recently released a photo of a vehicle of interest as it investigates a double homicide in the Chipman area.
Despite the photo’s relatively low quality, police hope someone recognizes the vehicle or has information to further the RCMP investigation.
The RCMP said the vehicle, believed to be a red Toyota Corolla, was seen in the Chipman area in the late evening hours of Nov. 24 and the early morning hours of Nov. 25.
The investigation began Nov. 25, after the Chipman RCMP detachment responded at approximately 8 a.m. to a report of a vehicle on fire with two people inside, off Midland Road in Chipman.
When police arrived at the scene, they located the bodies of two individuals inside of the vehicle. The RCMP determined their deaths as homicides.
The River Valley Sun has confirmed the two victims are a man and a woman. The man is believed to be from the Nackawic region, and the woman is believed to be from the Sheffield area.
The RCMP asks anyone who recognizes the vehicle or could supply information to help investigators to contact the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267).
Information could be relayed anonymously to the RCMP via Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
