Woodstock Ribfest celebrates its ninth year

Prepare for another year of sauce-covered deliciousness, live music, and the Rotary Kids Zone. Ribfest returns to the Connell Park Raceway in Woodstock from Friday, June 20, to Sunday, June 22.

“This is our ninth annual event, so we’re excited to keep things going. The weather is looking pretty decent, so we’re hoping to have a good crowd,” said Ribfest organizer Andrew Garnett.

The popular Fatboys Barbecue and Mississippi Smokehouse ribbers are back and accepting cash only. ATMs will be available in the field. The parking is free, and the entrance is by donation; all funds will go towards three local charities: John T. McMillan Jr. Memorial Foundation, the River Valley Cancer Support Group, and the Living Beyond Cancer Peer Support Group.

The festivities will start at 11 a.m. on Friday with the food services. The live music will begin at 6:30 p.m.

There will be no Lawnmower Races this year as the Town of Woodstock and Old Home Week are reassessing their safety plan. There will be archery on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.

“We’re hoping to enjoy some great music, raising some money while listening to some great music and enjoying some great food from our ribbers and other vendors,” said Garnett.
