Work at well site scheduled for Nov. 25 and 26
The Town of Woodstock published the following notice on its website detailing plans to drill an observation well at the Woodstock Well Site.
“As part of continued improvements to the Utilities infrastructure and water supply, the Town of Woodstock has obtained all required permits to drill an observation well at the main well site on Bell Lane. Drilling is scheduled to begin the afternoon of Monday, November 25th and be completed by the evening of Tuesday, November 26th.
“The observation well will be located approximately 100 ft from the existing well to mitigate any impact to the main production well. Engineering experts, along with our Utilities staff, will be on-site to provide continuous monitoring of the well and treatment plant during this brief construction project.
“No disruption to the water supply or impact on water quality is expected. However, we are asking residents to voluntarily reduce discretionary water usage throughout the daytime on November 25 and 26 as a precautionary measure. This would include limiting washing of clothes, dishes, or vehicles, or other high water usage activities.
“Thank you for your cooperation as we take this important next step in securing and enhancing the water supply for the Town of Woodstock.”
