Men scheduled to return to court in the new year
Two local men, charged after a serious assault near the Knights of Columbus Hall on Charles Street in Woodstock on Dec. 7, have both been released from jail.
Jacob David Murray Munn, 31, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody on Dec. 18 for a bail hearing. He was released from custody on conditions, including a curfew, and will reside at a Fredericton residence.
Judge Leslie Jackson ordered Munn to abstain from alcohol and drugs during his release. He returns to court for plea on Jan. 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Woodstock Police charged Munn with aggravated assault on another man by wounding him. The charge was laid after the victim was transported to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton for treatment of serious injuries. Munn has no prior criminal record.
A co-accused, Colton Kyle Weeks, 29, of Rosedale, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 15 for his bail hearing. He was released on a $2,500 bail bond, with conditions, and returns to court for a plea on Jan. 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Woodstock Police charged Weeks with pointing a firearm at another person, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, and careless use of a firearm in connection with the same incident. He has no prior criminal record.
