Charges pending against two people from Fredericton

On Sunday, Aug. 24, at approximately 6:30 a.m., members of the Woodstock Police Force (WPF) responded to a theft complaint after a homeowner reported that his vehicle had been broken into. The homeowner was able to provide a license plate number from a suspect vehicle, which was later located and confirmed to have been stolen from Fredericton the previous day.

A second involved vehicle, also reported stolen from the Grafton area earlier that morning, was located and seized a short time later.

Through investigation, officers arrested two male suspects in the area without incident. A search of the stolen vehicles resulted in the recovery of a significant amount of stolen property as well as drugs.

Charges are pending against a 24-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, both from the Fredericton area.

In a news release issued on Tuesday, Aug. 26, the WPF thanked the public for their assistance and reminded residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
