A 45-year-old man facing charges following 11-month-old investigation

The Woodstock Police Force arrested a 45-year-old man concerning the force’s investigation surrounding an abandoned vehicle.

In a news release on May 7, Deputy Chief Mark Bennett said the man will face charges of possessing property obtained in crime at a value of over $5,000 and breach of probation.

He explained the arrest involves an incident dating back to June of 2023 involving a suspicious vehicle incident in the Woodstock area.

The police explained that officers had responded to a call about an abandoned and suspicious vehicle.

“Subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen and later left abandoned,” WPF explained in the release. “Through a combination of investigation and forensic analysis, officers have been able to identify the individual responsible.”

The Woodstock Police Force asks anyone with information regarding this or any other crime to call (506) 325-4601.
