Police thank public for cooperation
A police operation involving the Woodstock Police Force (WPF) in the Elm and Orange Street area is now concluded.
In a social media post at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, the WPF said that its police operation had concluded.
“There is still a police presence in the area, but the streets are now open,” the force noted.
“We truly appreciate our community and today, in particular, the residents of the Elm Street area. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. You make a difference.”
Earlier in the evening, the WPF issued a warning to residents asking people to stay away from the Elm and Orange Street area.
In a social media post shortly after 8 p.m., the public was asked to cooperate while police dealt with a situation.
“Police operation in progress at Elm and Orange Street area,” said the post. “We ask that the public stay away from the area as well as St. John St, Grover, Green, College, Cedar, Pine and Chapel Streets. Thank you for your cooperation.”
