Charged with home invasion, robbery
Jessie Ginson, 36, of Bull Lake, appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Jan. 6 to answer two charges laid by the RCMP.
Ginson was charged with breaking into a dwelling house and committing robbery in connection with an incident on Jan. 3 in Windsor. He was released with conditions, including the requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle, and he must follow an order to abstain from drugs and alcohol. Ginson will return to court for plea on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. He must have no contact with the complainant.
Remanded after bail hearing
Logan Alexander Lagacy, 27, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 5 for a bail hearing. He was remanded to jail and will return to court in custody for plea on Jan. 29 at 9:30 a.m.
Lagacy was charged by Woodstock Police with dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, breach of probation and driving while suspended following an incident on Dec. 29 in Woodstock.
In custody for sentencing
Edward Brennan McGraw, 30, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody for a bail hearing on Jan. 5 after being arrested on a warrant. He waived his bail and entered guilty pleas to charges laid by Woodstock Police.
McGraw pleaded guilty to prowling at night and attempting to commit an indictable offence. His sentencing date was set for Feb. 2 at 1:30 p.m.
Not-guilty plea in Charles Street assault
Colton Kyle Weeks, 29, of Rosedale, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 5 and pleaded not guilty to charges laid by Woodstock Police. His trial was set for Jan. 28-29, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.
Weeks was charged with pointing a firearm at another person, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, and careless use of a firearm in connection with an incident on Dec. 7 on Charles Street in Woodstock. He has no prior criminal record.
Weeks appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 15 for his bail hearing. He was released on $2,500 bail, subject to conditions.
A co-accused, Jacob David Murray Munn, 31, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody on Dec. 18 for a bail hearing. He was released from custody with conditions, including a curfew, and is residing in Fredericton.
Judge Leslie Jackson ordered Munn to abstain from alcohol and drugs during his release. He returns to court for plea on Jan. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Munn was charged by Woodstock Police with aggravated assault on another man by wounding him. The charge was laid after the victim was transported to the hospital in Fredericton for treatment of serious injuries. Munn has no prior criminal record.
Theft and fraud charges
Sherry Lynn Williams, 61, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for plea on six charges laid by Woodstock Police. The matter was adjourned until Jan. 20 at 11 a.m.
Williams was charged with three counts of theft and three counts of fraud stemming from three separate incidents in Woodstock between Feb. 19, 2019, and June 7, 2019; between March 6, 2019, and April 22, 2019; and between Jan. 13, 2017, and June 5, 2019. The alleged victims were special needs adults.
The court heard that a resolution is being sought with the Crown. On Tuesday, Williams expressed her intention to plead guilty to the charges.
Charges laid following accident
Rylan McLeod, 22, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 and changed his plea to guilty on two charges laid by the RCMP. His sentencing date was set for March 4 at 9:30 a.m.
McLeod pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing bodily harm, and dangerous driving in relation to an accident on Jan. 5, 2024, at Bulls Creek. Several other charges were withdrawn by the Crown.
Held for bail hearing
Gavin Schloemer, 33, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Jan. 6 after being arrested on a warrant. He was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on Jan. 8 at 9:30 a.m.
Schloemer was charged by the RCMP with breaching his conditional sentence order of house arrest. A hearing regarding the alleged breach will be scheduled after the bail.
Woodstock woman pleads guilty
Nicole Demerchant, 47, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 and pleaded guilty to an assault charge. Her sentencing date was set for April 14 at 1:30 p.m.
Demerchant was charged by Woodstock Police with assaulting another woman on Aug. 10, 2025, in Woodstock.
Facing five charges
Jocelyn Cronk, 40, of no fixed address, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on several charges laid by the RCMP.
Cronk was charged with two counts of assault on a male victim, uttering threats, and unlawful confinement on June 23, 2025, in Aroostook, and breaching an undertaking (no contact) on June 23, 2025, at Aroostook. She was scheduled to enter a plea on Jan. 6 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Trial scheduled on sex charges
David Hayden, 73, of Tracey Mills, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for a monitoring hearing about his trial on two sex charges. Three days have been booked for the trial on March 18-19 and April 23 at 9:30 a.m.
Hayden was charged by the RCMP with sexual assault and solicitation of a minor for sexual services concerning an incident on Sept. 12, 2023, at Florenceville-Bristol. He pleaded not guilty. A pre-trial conference was booked for March 3 at 1:30 p.m.
Returning for plea
Robert MacFarlane, 39, of Florenceville-Bristol, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 to answer charges laid by the RCMP.
MacFarlane was charged by the RCMP with failing to attend court and breaching his curfew on Dec. 6 at Florenceville-Bristol. He appeared in court in custody on Dec. 31 and was released with conditions. He returns to court for plea on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m.
MacFarlane was also charged with assaulting another man on April 4, 2024, at Florenceville-Bristol, and breaking into a dwelling house, committing mischief, causing property damage to a door, and breaching an undertaking on May 4, 2024, in Johnville. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial date will be confirmed when he returns to court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m.
MacFarlane also appeared in provincial court on Aug. 5 and pleaded not guilty to two other charges laid by the RCMP. Another trial date was booked for Aug. 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. He was charged with uttering threats and theft of cigarettes in connection with an incident on Feb. 15 at Florenceville-Bristol.
Trial adjourned
Dustin Arthur Hawksley, 29, of Greenfield, appeared for trial in provincial court on Jan. 5 after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by Woodstock Police. The trial was adjourned until June 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the request of the Crown.
Hawksley was charged with assault involving a female victim and breach of a peace bond following an incident on Jan. 11, 2025, in Woodstock. He was released on an undertaking to have no contact with the complainant. A monitoring hearing for his trial will be held on April 28 at 9:30 a.m.
Nabbed for impaired
Chad Parker, 34, of Fredericton, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 and pleaded guilty to an impaired driving charge. He was fined $1,000 and prohibited from driving for one year.
Parker was charged by Woodstock Police following an incident on Connell Street on April 25, 2025.
Collage of charges
Kaylee Melinda Smith of Centreville will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. to set a date for her sentencing on two charges.
Smith pleaded guilty to two counts of identity theft for an incident on March 19, 2025, in Woodstock.
She was also charged with flight from police and dangerous driving on July 10, 2025, in Hartland. She pleaded not guilty, and her trial date was set for Dec. 3 at 1:30 p.m.
Smith was also charged with fleeing police on Oct. 20, 2025, in Woodstock and will enter a plea when she returns to court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m.
In custody in federal prison
Jonathon Daniel Stockford, 36, of Hartland, appeared in provincial court in custody via video from federal prison on Jan. 5 and pleaded not guilty to a stolen property charge. His trial was booked for July 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Stockford was charged by the RCMP with possession of a stolen side-by-side in an incident on July 20, 2025, at Waterville. The court heard Stockford was recently sentenced to four years in prison on other charges in Fredericton.
He will also appear for trial in provincial court in custody on March 23 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to other charges laid by the RCMP.
Stockford was charged with breaching his release order following an incident on Feb. 18, 2025, at Bedell, as well as with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving while suspended, and breach of probation stemming from another incident on Aug. 21, 2024, in Woodstock.
Neqotkuk man awaits sentencing
Jerico Perley, 21, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared for sentencing in provincial court on Jan. 6 after changing his plea to guilty on five charges laid by the RCMP. His sentencing was adjourned until April 15 at 1:30 p.m. to allow completion of a pre-sentence report and a victim impact statement.
Perley was charged with assault with a weapon involving a female victim, two counts of uttering threats, possession of a prohibited weapon (a guard dog baton/taser) without a licence, possession of a firearm (shotgun) without a licence, assault, assault by choking, and improper storage of a firearm following an incident on Sept. 15, 2024, at Neqotkuk. He appeared in court in custody in September and was released with conditions.
He pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon, one count of uttering threats, assault, possession of a firearm without a licence, and improper storage of a firearm. The charges stemmed from a domestic dispute. The remaining charges were withdrawn by the Crown.
Government-owned lawnmowers
Timothy Cullins, 49, of Oakland, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. to set a date for his trial on a stolen property charge.
Cullins pleaded not guilty to possession of three stolen riding lawnmowers owned by the provincial Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, stemming from an incident on Sept. 2, 2025, in Oakland. He appeared in court on Jan. 6 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Trial dates in February
Dale Boyle, 70, of no fixed address, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for a monitoring hearing about his trial on one charge laid by the RCMP. The court heard that further disclosure from the Crown remained outstanding, so a pre-trial conference was set for Jan. 13 at 1:30 p.m.
Boyle is scheduled for trial on Feb. 13and Feb. 18 at 9:30 a.m. He pleaded not guilty to making a visual recording of another person without their consent, where there was a reasonable expectation of privacy, in connection with an incident between Feb. 1 and Aug. 10, 2024, at Plaster Rock. The court heard the charges involved two victims and a hidden camera, which was allegedly pointed toward a shower in a private bathroom.
New trial date
Cindy Demerchant, 53, of Lower Kintore, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 5 for a hearing about a legal technicality involving her election on the mode of trial. She elected to have a trial in provincial court, and a new trial date was set for Feb. 9 at 9:30 a.m.
Demerchant was charged by the RCMP with break and enter and theft of food and money from Tim Hortons in Perth Andover on May 9, 2024. She pleaded not guilty and appeared for trial on Dec. 8, when a legal technicality halted the proceedings.
Trial in February
Collin Francis Bear, 35, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), will appear for trial in provincial court on Feb. 23 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to an assault charge laid by the RCMP.
Bear was charged in connection with an incident at Neqotkuk in 2024. At the request of his defence counsel, a monitoring hearing was set for Jan. 12 at 9:30 a.m.
Sentencing postponed
Calvin Joseph Nicholas, 54, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared for sentencing in provincial court on Jan. 6 after pleading guilty to charges laid by the RCMP. His sentencing was adjourned until April 14 at 1:30 p.m. to allow for the completion of a pre-sentence report.
Nicholas pleaded guilty to driving while impaired by drugs, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of hydromorphone in connection with an incident on May 30, 2024, at Neqotkuk.
Nicholas was also charged with failing to report his whereabouts to the national sex offender registry on July 14, 2025, in Woodstock. He appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference in December after being arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court. He will enter a plea on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m.
Charged with threats
Kristopher Thomas McConnell, 33, of Hartland, will for trial in provincial court on Nov. 19 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to a charge of uttering threats laid by the RCMP.
McConnell was scheduled to be in court on Jan. 6 but did not appear. His lawyer was present and entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf. A monitoring hearing about his trial was set for May 26 at 9:30 a.m.
Adjourned for plea
Allison Drier, 47, of Carlow, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 20 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on three charges laid by the RCMP.
Drier was charged with two counts of uttering threats and mischief, including property damage to a vehicle, arising from an incident on Aug. 2, 2025, at Carlow. He was scheduled to appear in provincial court on Jan. 6 when his lawyer requested the matter be adjourned to the new date.
Awaiting trial date
Robin Sappier, 47, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), will appear in provincial court on Jan. 20 at 9:30 a.m. to set a date for her trial after pleading not guilty to an assault charge laid by the RCMP.
Sappier was charged with assaulting a male victim on Aug. 28, 2025, at Neqotkuk. She appeared in court on Jan. 6 when the matter was adjourned to the new date to allow her more time to secure legal counsel.
Aroostook man to stand trial
Edward Fitzherbert, 48, of Aroostook, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for a monitoring hearing regarding his trial after pleading not guilty to three charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was rescheduled for Dec. 11 at 9:30 a.m.
Fitzherbert was charged with two counts of uttering threats and assaulting another man with a weapon (a baseball bat) stemming from an incident on March 21, 2025, at Aroostook. He told the court on Tuesday that he still had no lawyer.
Plea delayed to February
Ronald DeLong, 38, of Wilmot, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on a breach charge laid by the RCMP.
He appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Dec. 8 on a charge of breaching his curfew on Dec. 6 at Wilmot. He was released on conditions and scheduled for plea on Jan. 6, when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
He also appeared for trial in provincial court on Dec. 10 after pleading not guilty to three other charges laid by the RCMP. The trial was adjourned until March 21 at 1:30 p.m.
DeLong was charged with two counts of possession of a stolen motorcycle and possession of ammunition while prohibited following an incident on Aug. 7, 2024, at Wilmot.
Breach of release order
Brycen Trae Stewart, 28, of Lakeville, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. to enter a plea on a breach charge laid by RCMP.
Stewart appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Dec. 8 to answer a charge of breaching his release order on Dec. 7 at Wilmot. He was released on conditions and scheduled for plea on Jan. 6, when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Stewart is also awaiting trial on March 12-13 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to other charges laid by Woodstock Police and RCMP.
He was charged by Woodstock Police with dangerous driving, flight from police and breaching his curfew on Dec. 16, 2024, in Woodstock. He was also charged with breaching a no-contact order on Jan. 13, 2025, in Woodstock.
He was also charged with two counts of breaching his release order (curfew) concerning incidents on Sept. 24 and Oct. 8, 2024, in Woodstock.
Stewart was charged with breaking into a dwelling house on May 25, 2024, in Killoween and possession of a stolen vehicle on Aug. 4, 2023, in Lakeville.
Trial booked for 2027
Nicholas Demerchant, 49, of Beechwood, will appear for trial in provincial court Jan. 20, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP.
Demerchant was charged with assault and assault with a weapon (a chair) concerning an incident on Aug. 14 at Beechwood. His lawyer entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf on Jan. 6. A monitoring hearing for his trial was also booked for Aug. 18 at 1:30 p.m.
Adjourned for plea
Chandler Spittle, 23, of Perth-Andover, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. to answer charges laid by Woodstock Police and RCMP.
Spittle was charged by the RCMP with possession of counterfeit money (a $100 US bill) and using counterfeit money concerning an incident on Dec. 24, 2023, at Johnson Settlement.
Woodstock Police charged him with flight from police, dangerous driving and obstructing police for an incident on Aug. 2, 2025, in Woodstock. He appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Aug. 22, 2025, after being arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court and was released with conditions.
Beechwood woman to enter plea
Courtney Demerchant, 28, of Beechwood, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 13 at 9:30 a.m. to answer charges laid by Woodstock Police. She was scheduled to enter a plea on Jan. 6 when the matter was adjourned at the request of her defence counsel.
Demerchant was charged with assaulting a male victim in connection with an incident on Feb. 15 in Woodstock.
She will also appear for trial in provincial court on July 22 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to two other assault charges laid by the RCMP.
Demerchant was charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm concerning an incident on Nov. 5, 2024, in Beechwood.
Plea postponed
Cameron James Clark, 25, of Mapledale, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 to answer charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Clark appeared in provincial court in custody by video in November for a bail hearing after being arrested for breaching his release order (ankle bracelet). He was released with conditions, including house arrest and wearing another electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle.
He was charged by RCMP with breach of probation, resisting arrest, uttering threats, stalking a female victim, breaking into at a dwelling house, assault with a weapon, assaulting another man, and mischief causing property damage to a door on Sept. 17, 2025, at Mapledale; stalking a female victim, dangerous driving and breach of probation on Sept. 19, 2025, in Mapledale; and breaching a release order on Oct. 21, 2025, in Woodstock. He was ordered to have no contact with the complainants.
Trial in November
Makayla Phillips, 22, of Hartland, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 and pleaded not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP. Her trial date was set for Nov. 9 at 9:30 a.m.
Phillips was charged with uttering threats and mischief, causing property damage to a house for an incident on Jan. 24, 2025, at Richmond Settlement. A monitoring hearing about her trial was also booked for March 10 at 9:30 a.m.
Awaiting legal counsel
Zachery Don Brooks, 21, of Lower Brighton, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for a monitoring hearing about his multiple trials on 20 charges.
He pleaded not guilty, and trial dates were set for May 13 at 9:30 a.m., June 24 at 9:30 a.m., Aug. 20 at 9:30 a.m., and Aug. 24 at 9:30 a.m.
On Tuesday, he told the court he was still trying to secure legal counsel. Another monitoring hearing was booked for Jan. 20 at 9:30 a.m.
Brooks was charged by RCMP with five counts of assault involving a female victim, four counts of assault by choking, three counts of unlawful confinement, two counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon (a phone cord), assault while threatening to use a weapon (a knife), possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, mischief causing damage to a cell phone, and two counts of breaching a release order (no contact).
The charges were laid in connection with a series of incidents on Nov. 24, 2024, Feb. 12, Feb. 17, May 28, June 9, June 10 and June 11, 2025, in Lower Brighton; on June 3 and June 5, 2025, in Hartland, and on Feb. 19, 2025, in Woodstock.
Released to enter rehab
Joshua Alexander Russell, 36, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 to answer a breach charge. The matter was adjourned for plea until Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m.
Russell was charged by Woodstock Police with breaching his release order stemming from an incident between Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 in Woodstock.
He appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 16 for a bail hearing and was released with conditions, including the requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle. He was also ordered to enter a rehab facility in Saint John beginning in the New Year.
Russell also pleaded not guilty to six other charges laid by Woodstock Police. His trial date was set for Jan. 13-14, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.
Russell was charged with two counts of breaking into a dwelling house, breach of an emergency intervention order, mischief causing property damage to a vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, and driving while suspended in connection with an incident on Sept. 21, 2025, in Woodstock.
A pre-trial conference will be held on June 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. The court heard that Russell will also return on Aug. 31, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. for trial on another standalone matter.
In custody awaiting trial
Ryan Troy O’Donnell, 28, of Johnville, will appear for trial in provincial court in custody on April 2 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to charges laid by the RCMP.
O’Donnell was denied bail when he appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 15. He was arrested on Dec. 5 and charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, break, enter and theft, and two counts of committing mischief. He has a lengthy prior criminal record. He entered his not-guilty plea at a court appearance via video on Jan. 6.
Refusing a breathalyzer
Joseph Leo Richard, 60, of Belleville, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for a monitoring hearing about his trial next year. Another monitoring hearing was set for July 6 at 9:30 a.m. to confirm he has legal counsel to proceed to trial.
Richard was charged by the RCMP with refusing a breathalyzer demand in connection with an incident on Dec. 24, 2024, in Pembroke. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial was adjourned to Jan. 4, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. to allow him more time to hire a lawyer.
In custody awaiting plea
Christian Mario Albert, 39, of no fixed address, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 6 to answer charges laid by Woodstock Police. He waived his bail until later and returns to court in custody for plea on Jan. 20 at 9:30 a.m.
Albert appeared in provincial court in custody via video in November for a fitness hearing after completing a 30-day mental health assessment at Restigouche hospital. He was found fit to stand trial.
He appeared in provincial court in custody in October and was charged with attempting to steal a motor vehicle and breaching probation in connection with an incident on Oct. 28, 2025, in Woodstock.
Woodstock woman to enter plea
Georgia Wilson, 20, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 20 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on three charges laid by the RCMP.
Wilson was charged with resisting arrest on July 22, 2025, at Wilmot and breaching an undertaking (no contact) and resisting arrest on July 26, 2025, at Summerfield. She was scheduled to enter a plea on Jan. 6 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Plea and sentencing set
Caleb Wavel Crain, 42, of Piercemont, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for plea on one set of charges laid by Woodstock Police. The matter was adjourned until Jan. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
Crain was charged with transporting a firearm in a careless manner, possession of a firearm without a licence (a semi-automatic rifle), and being an occupant of a vehicle knowing it carried a firearm, following an incident on June 19, 2025, in Woodstock.
Crain was also charged with assault causing bodily harm to a female victim, unlawful confinement, and uttering threats following an incident on Dec. 10, 2022, near Florenceville-Bristol.
He pleaded guilty to the lesser included offence of common assault and guilty to uttering threats. The Crown withdrew the confinement charge. He returns to court for sentencing on those charges on Jan. 15 at 1:30 p.m.
Preliminary hearing continues
Patrick Harris, 40, of Hartland, and Tamara Hamilton, 30, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 5 at 1:30 p.m. for the continuation of their preliminary hearing.
They pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a shooting in Mainstream in February 2025. The pair elected to have a trial by a judge alone at the Court of King’s Bench.
Harris appeared in court in custody via video on March 19, 2025, for his bail hearing and was released on bail with conditions, including wearing an ankle electronic monitoring device.
Hamilton was released on Feb. 20, 2025, with conditions, including the requirement to wear an ankle electronic monitoring device. She was placed under house arrest with a curfew at a residence in Woodstock.
Harris was charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited (a sawed-off shotgun), discharging a firearm at a place while reckless as to whether a person was present; possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition without a licence, wearing a mask with intent to commit an offence; uttering threats against another man, breach of probation, pointing a firearm at another person, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, and being an occupant of a vehicle (a half ton truck) knowing it carried a firearm.
Hamilton was charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited (a sawed-off shotgun), possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, discharging a firearm at a place while reckless as to whether a person was present, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition without a licence, and being an occupant of a vehicle knowing it carried a firearm.
The pair was arrested by the RCMP inside a garage in Pembroke after a blue half-ton truck was spotted leaving the scene of the shooting in Mainstream on Feb. 17, 2025.
Plea adjourned
Derrick Goodine, 67, of Oxbow, Victoria County, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 to answer two charges. The matter was adjourned for plea until Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m.
Goodine was charged by the RCMP with prowling at night and breach of probation concerning an incident on Dec. 29, 2024, at Florenceville-Bristol.
He also appeared in provincial court in custody on Jan. 6, 2025, for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. He was charged by the RCMP with making a visual recording of a person while they were nude without their consent. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial was set for Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m.
In federal prison
Robert Louis Michaud, 54, formerly of Grand Falls, appeared in provincial court in custody via video from federal prison on Jan. 6 to deal with charges laid by local police.
Michaud was charged with breaching a release order and two counts of driving while suspended, stemming from incidents between May 10 and June 23, 2025, in Woodstock. He returns to court in custody for plea on Jan. 20 at 1:30 p.m.
Michaud, Matthew Harris, 46, of Meductic, and Adrienne Susan Dickison, 34, of Dow Settlement, were all charged for an incident at the airport in Lincoln on Nov. 23, 2023, when a quantity of crystal meth was seized by police.
Michaud and Dickison were each sentenced in October to two years in federal prison. Harris was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison on Nov. 20.
Sentence pending
Andrew St. Peter, 32, of Plaster Rock, appeared in provincial court via teleconference on Jan. 6 to set a date for his sentencing on one charge laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned until Jan. 27 at 1 p.m.
St. Peter pleaded guilty to possession of a dangerous weapon. He told the court he was currently in custody in a rehab facility in Moncton and wanted to be sentenced via video.
At an earlier court appearance, St. Peter pleaded not guilty to five other charges laid by the RCMP. His trial date was set for April 16 at 9:30 a.m.
St. Peter was charged with two counts of breaching a release order by failing to report to police between Jan. 1 and March 1, 2025, at Weaver, and three counts of uttering threats on March 10, 2025, at Weaver.
Trio facing multiple charges
Kurtis Stenger, 33, of Fredericton, Samuel Robert Crewe, 31, and Timothy Brian Wheelan, 37, both of Jacksonville, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 to answer a raft of charges.
Crewe and Wheelan both appeared in court in custody via video. The three men were each charged by the RCMP with possession of methamphetamine, ecstasy, cocaine and fentanyl, all for the purpose of trafficking in connection with incidents between June 1 and June 13, 2025, in Jacksonville.
Crewe pleaded not guilty, while Wheelan’s plea was delayed until Jan. 20 at 9:30 a.m. to allow him more time to consult his lawyer. The drug charges against Stenger were withdrawn by the Crown.
Stenger faces 14 firearm charges in relation to the incident on June 13, 2025. He pleaded not guilty, and a trial date will be set on Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m.
Crewe has 13 firearm charges for the same incident and faces another charge of breaching a release order on March 6, 2025, in Woodstock.
Crewe pleaded not guilty to the gun charges, and trial dates were set for Sept. 16, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. and Nov. 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. He changed his plea to guilty for the breach, and his sentencing was set for Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
Wheelan has 48 gun charges from the June 13 incident and will enter a plea at his appearance on Jan. 20. He pleaded not guilty to other separate charges for uttering threats on March 17, April 10, and Aug. 12, 2025, and breach of a peace bond, and breach of a release order on Sept. 21, 2025. Trial dates were set for March 27, April 1, and April 2 at 1:30 p.m.
Wheelan was also charged with breach of a peace bond, possession of a stolen utility trailer, resisting arrest, dangerous driving, and flight from police for an incident on Nov. 17, 2025, at Meductic when a spike belt was used to stop a speeding vehicle heading toward Woodstock. Wheelan was denied bail on Dec. 4 on those charges. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial date was set for March 25 at 9:30 a.m.
Crewe appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 2 and pleaded guilty to another set of drug charges laid by Woodstock Police. He pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking on March 19, 2025, in Woodstock. His sentencing date was booked for Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
Crewe was denied bail on more charges. He was charged by Woodstock Police with being at large on a release order by violating his house arrest, stemming from an incident on June 24, 2025, in Woodstock. He changed his plea to guilty, and his sentencing will take place on Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
Crewe also changed his plea to guilty on three other charges laid by the Woodstock Police, including flight from police, dangerous driving, and breach of a release order, on May 6, 2025, in Woodstock. He will be sentenced on Jan. 26 at 1:30 p.m.
Crewe also changed his plea to guilty on charges of flight from police, dangerous driving and driving while prohibited in connection with a single vehicle accident in Kirkland on Jan. 4, 2025. He has a prior criminal record. Another charge of possession of methamphetamine was withdrawn by the Crown.
