42 months in prison for Meductic man
Matthew William Harris, 46, of Meductic, was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison when he appeared in provincial court in Fredericton on Nov. 20 on a drug trafficking charge.
Harris and co-accused, Robert Louis Michaud, 54, formerly of Grand Falls, and Adrienne Susan Dickison, 34, of Dow Settlement, were charged for an incident at the airport in Lincoln on Nov. 23, 2023, when police seized a quantity of crystal meth.
Michaud and Dickison were each sentenced to two years in federal prison. Dickison was sentenced in Fredericton on Oct. 22. Michaud appeared in court in Woodstock, in custody via video, on Oct. 28, and told the court he had been in prison in Nova Scotia for 50 days.
Harris appeared in provincial court in Woodstock in custody via video on Nov. 25 to answer other charges laid by the RCMP. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial dates were set for Feb. 11, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. and Feb. 27, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
He pleaded not guilty to assault by choking involving a female victim and committing mischief causing property damage following an incident on Sept. 2 in Meductic, as well as two counts of driving while suspended.
Arrest warrant issued
The court issued an arrest warrant for Kristen Hamilton Smith, 34, of Carlingford, after she failed to appear in provincial court on Nov. 25 to answer charges laid by the RCMP.
Hamilton-Smith appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court in custody via video on Oct. 28 and was later released with conditions in Edmundston. She was charged with possession of a stolen truck on June 27 in Canterbury; three counts of theft from businesses in Plaster Rock and Perth-Andover on Oct. 27; and two counts of mischief, break and enter, flight from police, and dangerous driving for an incident on Oct. 23 in Perth-Andover.
Sentencing set for Johnville man
Cole Paul Smith, 30, of Johnville, appeared in provincial court in custody on Nov. 25 and changed his plea to guilty on multiple charges laid by the RCMP and Woodstock Police. His sentencing date was booked for Jan. 23, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Smith pleaded guilty to breaching of a release order by violating electronic monitoring on June 24 at Mapledale; guilty to flight from police, breaching his house arrest and dangerous driving on June 29 at East Brighton; guilty to assault with a weapon (a metal stool) on Oct. 22, 2024, in Johnville, guilty to assault by choking and uttering threats on Jan. 15 in Bath; guilty to assaulting a female victim between Nov. 15-30, 2024, in Johnville; guilty to two counts of uttering threats between April 10-11 in Woodstock; and guilty to breach of a release order (no contact) on May 29 in Woodstock. The Crown withdrew three other charges.
Smith appeared in provincial court in custody by video for a bail hearing on May 1 and was released with conditions. He was later arrested on a warrant on June 30 and remanded. The court heard that the accused is expected to receive a federal prison sentence.
Conditional discharge, probation
Sylvia Drier, 25, of Tobique Narrows, received a conditional discharge and 12 months of probation when she appeared in provincial court for sentencing on Nov. 25. She pleaded guilty to three charges laid by the RCMP. She was ordered to complete 30 hours of community service work.
Drier was charged with assaulting another woman, assault with a weapon (a can), and mischief causing property damage for an incident on April 19 at Hartley Settlement. The court heard the incident involved an altercation at a residence, during which a cupboard, household items, and a car were damaged. Drier had no prior criminal record.
Kilburn man fined $2,600
Colby Bell, 20, of Kilburn, appeared in provincial court on Nov. 25 and pleaded guilty to an impaired driving charge. He was fined $2,600 and was prohibited from driving for one year.
Bell was charged by the RCMP following a single-vehicle accident around midnight on April 24 in Aroostook. The court heard that a hydro pole anchor was struck, causing the power to go out. Bell had a blood alcohol reading double the legal limit. He had no prior criminal record.
Plea postponed
Cameron James Clark, 25, of Mapledale, appeared in provincial court on Nov. 25 to answer charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until Dec. 16 at 9 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Clark appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Nov. 6 for a bail hearing after being arrested for breaching his release order (ankle bracelet). He was released with conditions, including house arrest and wearing another electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle.
He was charged by RCMP with breach of probation, resisting arrest, uttering threats, stalking a female victim, breaking into at a dwelling house, assault with a weapon, assaulting another man, and mischief causing property damage to a door on Sept. 17 at Mapledale; stalking a female victim, dangerous driving and breach of probation on Sept. 19 in Mapledale; and breaching a release order on Oct. 21 in Woodstock.
He was ordered to have no contact with the complainants.
Trial adjourned
Daniel Ralph Arch, 50, of Northern Arm, Newfoundland, appeared in provincial court via teleconference on Nov. 24 for monitoring about his trial after pleading not guilty to one charge laid by the RCMP.
Arch was charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm following an accident on March 27, 2024, at Dorrington Hill near Canterbury. His trial was adjourned until Feb. 9, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. to allow the accused to complete a mental health assessment.
Impaired driving by drugs
Sherry Murphy, 59, of Plaster Rock, will appear in provincial court on Dec. 16 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on an impaired driving charge.
RCMP charged Murphy with impaired driving by drugs stemming from an incident on Nov. 18, 2024, in Perth-Andover. She appeared in court on Nov. 25 for plea when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Trial date next year
Muhammed Iqbal, 42, of Somerville, will appear for trial in provincial court on Aug. 21, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to five charges laid by the RCMP.
Iqbal was charged with uttering threats on May 10 in Somerville; three counts of assault and assault by choking between July 1 and July 31 in Somerville.
The court heard he is currently living in Montreal, so his lawyer entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf. A monitoring date for his trial was scheduled for Jan. 27, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Returning for plea
Stephen Mohan, 44, of St. Stephen, appeared in provincial court on Nov. 25 for plea on four charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned until Dec. 16 at 9:30 a.m.
Mohan appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Oct. 30 for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. He was charged with possession of a weapon (a knife) dangerous to the public peace, uttering threats, and robbery of a motor vehicle using violence, concerning an incident on Oct. 17 at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation). He was also charged with resisting arrest on Oct. 17 at Canterbury.
Awaiting trial
Lucas Green, 21, of Richmond Settlement, appeared in provincial court on Nov. 25 and pleaded not guilty to several charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was booked for Dec. 17, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Green pleaded not guilty to uttering threats on Aug. 13 at Richmond Corner; assaulting another man with a weapon (a metal pipe), breach of a no-contact order on Sept. 21 in Mapledale; and breach of a release order (curfew) on Oct. 15 at Mapledale.
He appeared in provincial court in custody in October and was released with conditions. On Sept. 25, he had a bail hearing and was released on the condition that he wear an ankle monitor.
Trial set on assault charges
Kevin Smith, 48, of Hartley Settlement, will appear for trial on May 15, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to three charges laid by the RCMP.
Smith was charged with two counts of assault and uttering threats concerning an incident on July 22 at Juniper. He entered his not-guilty plea on Nov. 25.
Greenfield man has plea date
Jordan Hill, 21, of Greenfield, appeared in provincial court on Nov. 25 to answer four charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until Dec. 23 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Hill was charged with assault, assault with a weapon (a ruler), breaking into a dwelling house, and committing mischief stemming from an incident on March 13 in Juniper. He was released on an undertaking until his trial.
Charged with assault
Kaitlyn Levesque, 30, of Plaster Rock, appeared in provincial court on Nov. 25 and pleaded not guilty to an assault charge. Her trial was scheduled for May 15, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Levesque was charged with assault involving a male victim in connection with an incident on March 9 at Plaster Rock.
Woodstock woman to enter plea
Georgia Wilson, 20, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on Dec. 16 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on three charges laid by the RCMP.
Wilson was charged with resisting arrest on July 22 at Wilmot, breaching an undertaking (no contact), and resisting arrest on July 26 at Summerfield. She appeared in court on Nov. 25 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Neqotkuk man to stand trial
Casey Bernard, 27, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court on Nov. 25 and pleaded not guilty to a threat charge. His trial date was set for Nov. 20, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
RCMP charged Bernard with uttering threats against a female victim in connection with an incident on July 26 at Neqotkuk. He was released on an undertaking and ordered to have no contact with the complainant.
Coldstream man facing sex charges
Damian Oakes, 26, of Coldstream, will appear for trial in provincial court on April 10 and April 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to charges laid by the RCMP.
Oakes was charged with uttering threats and unlawful entry at a dwelling house in connection with an incident on Dec. 2, 2024, at Coldstream.
Oakes was also charged with indictable sexual assault, touching for a sexual purpose, and using a weapon to commit an assault (a lighter) in connection with an incident between Jan. 1, 2017 and Dec. 13, 2021. He appeared in court on Nov. 25 when another monitoring hearing was scheduled for Feb. 19, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Neqotkuk man to enter plea
Brock Vollmar, 48, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), will appear in provincial court on Dec. 12 at 1:30 p.m. for plea on charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was scheduled for Nov. 25 but was adjourned to the new date at his lawyer’s request.
Vollmar was charged by the RCMP with unlawful confinement, assault involving a female victim, and uttering threats for an incident on July 9 at Neqotkuk. He is also facing a theft charge for an incident at the Ultramar in Carlingford and a charge of driving while suspended on Sept. 12 at Neqotkuk.
He appeared in provincial court in custody for a bail hearing on July 14 and was released with conditions. The Crown withdrew another fraud charge on Oct. 28.
Plea adjourned
Jesse Hallett, 36, of Lansdowne, will appear in provincial court on Dec. 23 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on two charges laid by RCMP.
Hallett was charged with assault by choking and breaching an undertaking (no contact) in connection with an incident between Aug. 27 and Aug. 28 in Lansdowne. He appeared in court on Nov. 25 when the matter was adjourned at the request of his defence counsel.
