Woodstock Provincial Court: Man awaits bail hearing on flight from police and firearms charges

Remanded for bail hearing

Brandon Coté, 30, of no fixed address, appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Feb. 17 to answer a series of charges laid by the RCMP. He was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on Feb. 19 at 9:30 a.m.

Cote was charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, possession of a firearm without a licence (a pump-action shotgun), breach of probation, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, and possession of a firearm while prohibited from having it in connection with an incident on Feb. 16 in Florenceville-Bristol.

Arrested for theft

Felicia Fulton, 31, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Feb. 16 after being arrested on a theft charge. She was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on Feb. 19 at 9:30 a.m.

Fulton was charged with theft from the Home Zone Electronics Store in Florenceville-Bristol on Jan. 26.

In custody awaiting trial

An Ontario man appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 17 after being denied bail on multiple charges laid by the RCMP.

Michael Frost, 56, formerly of Howard Brook, pleaded not guilty to committing arson by burning a vehicle, two counts of uttering threats, three counts of resisting arrest, flight from police, and two counts of breaching an undertaking, concerning incidents on Jan. 6-7 and on Jan. 17 in Florenceville-Bristol.  His trial was booked for May 28-29, at 9:30 a.m. A monitoring date was also set for May 5 at 1:30 p.m.

House arrest and probation

Brock Perley, 34, Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), received a 12-month conditional sentence order and 12 months of probation when he appeared in provincial court for sentencing on Feb. 17. The first four months of his sentence will be spent under house arrest.

Perley was charged with uttering threats and assaulting another man following an incident on Aug. 2, 2023, in Lower Knoxford. He pleaded guilty to the assault, and the threat charge was withdrawn by the Crown. The court heard the victim was a senior who was traumatized by the assault, which took place at his residence.

Perley told the court he was intoxicated at the time of the incident, but was now sober and remorseful for his actions. Judge Karen Lee ordered Perley to continue counselling and treatment for alcohol addiction. He had a prior criminal record.

Sentencing on two charges

Marc Morin, 25, of Aroostook, appeared for sentencing in provincial court on Feb. 17 after changing his plea to guilty on two charges laid by the RCMP. His sentencing was adjourned until May 27 at 1:30 p.m. to allow for the completion of a pre-sentence report.

He pleaded guilty to breaching his curfew on Dec. 3, 2024, and breaching his release order by failing to appear for trial on July 15, 2024.

Fined for impaired driving

Gracie Shae Cox, 20, of Woodstock, was fined $3,500 after pleading guilty to an impaired driving charge laid by Woodstock Police. She was also prohibited from driving for 12 months, minus 86 days.

Cox was charged following a single-vehicle accident on Grant Street in Woodstock on July 7, 2024. The court heard she lost control of the vehicle on a turn, left the highway and overturned. A passenger was not injured. Cox had no prior criminal record.

New trial date

Nathan Bowmaster, 34, of Moose Mountain, will appear for trial in provincial court on March 8, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP.

Bowmaster pleaded not guilty to assault and driving without due care and attention concerning an incident on Sept. 16, 2025, at Bath. His trial was booked for Dec. 30, 2026, but was adjourned on Tuesday to a new date.

Agreed to peace bond

Rodney Baker, 62, of Upper Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Feb. 17 for a monitoring hearing about his trial on an assault charge. He agreed to sign a 12-month peace bond, and the trial booked for January 2027 was cancelled.

Baker was charged by the RCMP with assaulting a female victim following an incident on Dec. 17, 2025, in Upper Woodstock. The peace bond will result in the charge being withdrawn.

Not-guilty plea

Stephen Michael Williams of Perth-Andover will appear in provincial court on March 17 at 9:30 a.m. to set a date for his trial on two charges.

Williams was charged by the RCMP with flight from police and failing to stop under the Motor Vehicle Act in relation to an incident on April 1, 2025, at Bairdsville. He entered his not-guilty plea during his first court appearance on Feb. 17.

Centreville man arrested

Chad Brooker, 36, of Centreville, appeared in provincial court in custody on Feb. 17 after being arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court in January.

He was released on an undertaking and returns to court on March 10 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on an assault charge. The RCMP charged Brooker in connection with an incident on Dec. 15, 2025, in Williamstown.

Brooker pleaded not guilty to sexual assault, touching a minor for a sexual purpose and invitation to sexual touching in connection with an incident between June 1 and Oct. 31, 2024, at Centreville. His trial was set for April 1-2, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.  A pre-trial conference was also booked for Jan. 5, 2027, at 1:30 p.m.

Released until trial

Noah Saulis, 24, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court on Feb. 17 and pleaded not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was set for March 19, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.

Saulis appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Feb. 6 and was released with conditions. He was charged with breaching a no-contact order on Feb. 5 at Aroostook and assaulting a female victim on Dec. 13, 2025, at Aroostook. A monitoring hearing was also scheduled for June 23 at 1:30 p.m.

He will also appear for trial in provincial court on Dec. 21 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to another assault charge laid by the RCMP. Saulis was charged with assaulting another man on June 20, 2025, in Perth-Andover.

Trial on eight charges

Brandon Francis, 30, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 17 and pleaded not guilty to eight charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was booked for June 11-12, at 9:30 a.m.

Francis was denied bail on Feb. 5. He was charged with breaking into a dwelling house, possession of a weapon (a knife) for the purpose of committing an offence, indictable assault, uttering threats, breach of probation, and mischief causing property damage on Jan. 10 at Perth-Andover. He was also charged with resisting arrest and breach of probation on Jan. 20 at Perth-Andover. A pre-trial conference will be held on May 4 at 1:30 p.m.

Sentencing and trial dates

Kaylee Melinda Smith, 25, of Clearview, will appear in provincial court for sentencing on May 5 at 1:30 p.m. after pleading guilty to two charges.

Smith pleaded guilty to two counts of identity theft for an incident on March 19, 2025, in Woodstock.

She was also charged with flight from police and dangerous driving on July 10, 2025, in Hartland. She pleaded not guilty, and her trial date was set for Dec. 3 at 1:30 p.m.

Smith was also charged with fleeing police on Oct. 20, 2025, in Woodstock. She pleaded not guilty on Feb. 17, and her trial date was set for March 8, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.

Smith and a co-accused, Nicholas Hamilton, 31, of Richmond Corner, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 15 for their bail hearings on charges related to a police chase in Lindsay.

Smith was released from custody with conditions, including house arrest and wearing an electronic monitoring device attached to her ankle. She was charged with possession of a firearm without a licence, transporting firearms in a careless manner, being an occupant of a vehicle knowing it carried a firearm, and illegal transport of ammunition. She pleaded not guilty on Feb. 17, and her trial was booked for March 12, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.

Hamilton was denied bail and returns to court in custody for plea on Feb. 23 at 1:30 p.m. He was charged by the RCMP with flight from police, dangerous driving, possession of a firearm while prohibited from having it, possession of a firearm without a licence (a shotgun and rifle), transporting firearms in a careless manner, and being an occupant of a vehicle knowing it carried a firearm. The charges were laid following a police chase on Jan. 13, during which a spike belt was used to stop a speeding half-ton truck.

Fredericton man charged

Laurence Robert Pitre, 37, of Fredericton, will appear for trial in provincial court on March 11, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to five charges laid by Woodstock Police. Defence counsel Alex Carleton entered a not-guilty plea on his client’s behalf on Feb 17.

Pitre appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 15, 2025, for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. He was charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, committing mischief and two counts of obstructing police following an incident on Dec. 10, 2025, in Woodstock.

Not-guilty plea on four charges

Justin Porter, 43, of Plaster Rock, appeared in provincial court on Feb. 17 for a monitoring hearing regarding his December trial. He told the court he was still without legal counsel and planned to represent himself at trial.

Porter appeared in provincial court on Nov. 18, 2025, and pleaded not guilty to four charges laid by Woodstock Police. His trial was booked for Dec. 2, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.

He was charged with driving while suspended, dangerous driving, fleeing police, and breach of probation concerning an incident on May 20, 2025, in Woodstock.

Warrant on file

Aubrey Corey, 65, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on March 10 at 9:30 a.m. to answer an impaired driving charge. He was scheduled to enter a plea on Feb. 17, but did not appear in court, so a warrant was held on file.

Corey was charged by Woodstock Police in connection with an incident on Aug. 17, 2025, in Woodstock. His defence counsel was in court on Tuesday and explained that he would advise his client about the next court date.

Debec man charged

Bradley MacFarlane, 39, of Debec, will appear in provincial court on March 10 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on two charges laid by Woodstock Police.

MacFarlane was charged with uttering threats and dangerous driving following an incident on Oct. 24, 2025, in Woodstock. He was scheduled to answer the charge on Feb. 17, but the matter was adjourned to the new date at his lawyer’s request.

Trial dates in March 2027

Joseph Nicholas of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation) appeared in provincial court on Feb. 17 via teleconference and pleaded not guilty to several charges laid by the RCMP. His trial dates were set for March 8, 2027, at 1:30 p.m., and March 22 and March 25, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.

Nicholas was charged with breaking into Shaw’s Service Centre in Perth-Andover, mischief causing property damage to a door, and theft of a motor vehicle on Oct. 25, 2025.

He was also charged with two counts of assault and committing mischief for an incident on Aug. 3, 2025, at Neqotkuk, and driving while suspended and possession of stolen property on Aug. 2, 2025, in Woodstock. He appeared in custody via video in November for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. A monitoring hearing about his trial will be held on Nov. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Arrest warrant issued

The court issued an arrest warrant for Timothy Cullins, 49, of Oakland, after he failed to appear in provincial court on Feb. 17 to set a date for his trial on a stolen property charge.

Cullins pleaded not guilty to possession of three stolen riding lawnmowers owned by the provincial Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, stemming from an incident on Sept. 2, 2025, in Oakland. He appeared in court on Jan. 27 when the matter was adjourned to allow him more time to secure legal counsel.

Awaiting trial date

Brittany Priscilla King, 28, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on March 13 at 9:30 a.m. to set a new date for her trial on charges laid by Woodstock Police.

King appeared in provincial court in custody for a bail hearing on Jan. 23 after being arrested for failing to attend her trial. She was charged with breaching a court order and was released with conditions.

King was also charged by Woodstock Police with assault with a weapon (a knife), and assault causing bodily harm to a male victim, concerning an incident on Nov. 5, 2023, in Woodstock. She pleaded not guilty.

Stolen property charge

Jacob Jinson, 26, of Somerville, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 17 to answer a new charge laid by Woodstock Police.

He was charged with possession of stolen property (a Husqvarna whipper snipper) on Oct. 30, 2025, in Woodstock. He returns to court in custody for plea on March 10 at 9:30 a.m.

Another individual, Christopher Mean of Woodstock, also appeared in court on Feb. 17 on a charge of having a stolen Husqvarna whipper snipper on the same date. He returns to court for plea on March 17 at 9:30 a.m.

Jinson appeared in provincial court in custody via video for a bail hearing on Dec. 31, 2025, after being arrested on a warrant on a charge of breaching a no-contact order. He was denied bail and remanded to jail.

Jinson was also charged by the RCMP with uttering threats on April 10, 2024, in Somerville, breaching his curfew on April 20, 2024, and failing to appear in court on Aug. 6, 2024.

He pleaded not guilty, and his trial date was set for Dec. 3, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. The court heard that the trial date must be moved up because Jinson is currently in custody.

Trafficking and gun charges

Samuel Robert Crewe, 31, and Timothy Brian Wheelan, 39, both of Jacksonville, appeared in provincial court in custody on Feb. 17 to deal with charges laid by local police. Wheelan appeared with new legal counsel, so all matters were adjourned to Feb. 26 at 9:30 a.m. to allow him time to prepare for plea.

The RCMP charged the two accused with possession of methamphetamine, ecstasy, cocaine and fentanyl, all for the purpose of trafficking in connection with incidents between June 1 and June 13, 2025, in Jacksonville. Crewe pleaded not guilty, but his trial date has not been set.

Crewe also has 13 gun charges related to the same incident in June 2025. He pleaded not guilty, and trial dates were set for Sept. 16, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. and Nov. 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.

Wheelan is also awaiting plea on 42 related gun charges laid by Woodstock Police. He was denied bail on Nov. 20, 2025. He was also charged by the RCMP with breach of a peace bond, possession of a stolen utility trailer, resisting arrest, dangerous driving, and flight from police on Nov. 17, 2025, in Meductic. He is also facing four threat charges.

Crewe was sentenced to three years in federal prison, minus time served, when he appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 26. He pleaded guilty to a raft of drug and theft charges, as well as driving offences, laid by Woodstock Police and the RCMP.  He had a prior criminal record.
