St. Stephen man to return to court in March
Stephen Mohan, 44, of St. Stephen, appeared in provincial court on Feb. 10 to answer a series of charges laid by the RCMP. His plea was adjourned until March 10 at 9:30 a.m.
Mohan was charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking on Oct. 17, 2025, in Canterbury, and possession of unstamped tobacco on Oct. 17, 2025, at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation). He is also facing other drug charges in Fredericton.
The court issued an arrest warrant for a co-accused, Candace Parker of St. Stephen, who failed to appear in court on Feb. 10. Parker is also facing additional charges of uttering threats, assault, and robbery with violence related to the Oct. 17, 2025, incident at Wotstak.
Mohan appeared in provincial court on Dec. 16, 2025, and pleaded not guilty to three charges, but guilty to one other charge of resisting arrest. His trial date was set for Jan. 11, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.
He appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Oct. 30, 2025, for a bail hearing and was released on conditions. He was charged with possession of a weapon (a knife), dangerous to the public peace, uttering threats, and robbery of a motor vehicle using violence, concerning an incident on Oct. 17, 2025, at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation). He was also charged with resisting arrest on Oct. 17, 2025, at Canterbury. His sentencing on that charge will be dealt with after his trial.
Remanded for bail hearing
Joshua Alexander Russell, 36, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 9 to answer several new charges laid by Woodstock Police. He was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m.
Russell was charged with assault involving a female victim, uttering threats, two counts of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, mischief causing property damage to a wall, and breach of a release order following an incident in Woodstock on Feb. 7. He was ordered to have no contact with the complainants.
He also appeared in provincial court on Feb. 3 and pleaded not guilty to a breach charge. His trial was set for Jan. 13, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. Russell was charged by Woodstock Police with breaching his release order stemming from an incident between Dec. 11 and Dec. 12, 2025, in Woodstock.
He appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 16, 2025, for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. He was also ordered to enter a rehab facility in Saint John.
Russell also pleaded not guilty to six other charges laid by Woodstock Police. His trial date was set for Jan. 13-14, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.
Russell was charged with two counts of breaking into a dwelling house, breach of an emergency intervention order, mischief causing property damage to a vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, and driving while suspended in connection with an incident on Sept. 21, 2025, in Woodstock.
A pre-trial conference will be held on June 24 at 1:30 p.m. The court heard Russell will also return to court on Aug. 31 at 9:30 a.m. for trial on another standalone matter.
Held in custody
Mitchell McKenzie, 39, of Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation), appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 9 on two charges laid by the RCMP. He was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on Feb. 12 at 1:30 p.m.
McKenzie was charged with uttering threats and breach of probation concerning an incident on Feb. 7 at Wotstak.
Waived bail until later
Joshua Jarrett of Woodstock appeared in provincial court in custody via video for a bail hearing on Feb. 9. He waived his bail until later and returns to court in custody for plea on March 5 at 9:30 a.m.
Jarrett was charged by the RCMP with flight from police, mischief causing property damage to a vehicle, breach of probation and driving while suspended on Feb. 5 in Woodstock, and theft of a truck on Feb. 5 in East Brighton.
Arrested on breach allegation
Dana McLean, 60, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Feb. 10 after being arrested for allegedly breaching his house arrest. He was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m.
McLean was charged by Woodstock Police with being unlawfully at large. He denied the allegation, and a hearing was booked for Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m. In December, McLean was handed a six-month conditional sentence order after pleading guilty to theft of copper wire.
Sentence pending on two charges
Clay Hargrove, 30, of Beechwood, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 9 to answer two charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until March 2 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of Defence Counsel Alex Pate.
Hargrove appeared in court on Jan. 19 after being arrested on a warrant and waived his bail until later.
He pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm to another man and possession of a stolen ATV for an incident on Aug. 27, 2024, at Upper Kent, but failed to return for sentencing. He also faces charges of resisting arrest and identity fraud.
On Jan. 13, Hargrove was charged with failing to appear in court and with a probation violation on Jan. 8. His sentencing will be addressed after his plea on the newer charges.
Woman named as accessory
A Fredericton woman appeared in provincial court on Feb. 9 to answer theft charges. The court heard she was also an alleged accessory in a break-in on Searle Street.
Madison Anderson was charged with two counts of theft on Nov. 24, 2025, at the Petro Canada near Meductic. She returns to court for plea on March 3 at 9:30 a.m.
Two men are facing charges related to the break-in. Bastian Kitchener Bradbury, 19, of Fredericton, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 5 for a bail hearing. He was released with conditions to a rehab facility near Sussex and returns to court for plea on March 3 at 1:30 p.m.
Bradbury and Michael Ronald McKee of Woodstock were each charged with breaking into a woodworking shop, possession of stolen tools, possession of a stolen vehicle (a Mazda CX5), possession of break-in tools, and prowling at night on Nov. 24, 2025. Bradbury also faces a charge of wearing a mask while committing an offence. Both men are also charged with theft of copper wire.
McKee waived his bail until later and returns to court in custody for plea on Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m. The court heard they are also facing other charges in Fredericton.
McKee was also charged with possession of a stolen vehicle in connection with an incident on Nov. 5, 2025, at Bedell. The matter was adjourned for plea until Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m.
Guilty-plea for break-in
Nicholas Adam Cullins, 43, of Ashland, appeared in provincial court for sentencing on Feb. 10 after changing his plea to guilty on a break and enter charge laid by Woodstock Police. His sentencing was adjourned until May 12 at 1:30 p.m. to allow for the completion of a pre-sentence report.
Cullins was charged with break, enter, and theft at a storage facility on Popular Street in Woodstock on March 15, 2023. He was released with conditions until his sentencing hearing and must follow a curfew.
Sentencing for assault
Donald Nason, 63, of Hartland, appeared for trial in provincial court on Feb. 5 and changed his plea to guilty on an assault charge laid by the RCMP. His sentencing date was set for May 12 at 1:30 p.m.
Nason was charged with assault by choking involving a female victim concerning an incident on Jan. 2, 2025, in Hartland. He pleaded guilty to the lesser included offence of common assault.
Three fined for impaired
Carvell Weston, 57, of Woodstock, appeared for trial in provincial court on Feb. 9 and changed his plea to guilty on an impaired driving charge. He was fined $1,300 and prohibited from driving for one year.
Weston was charged by Woodstock Police in connection with an incident on June 11, 2024, in Woodstock. He had no prior criminal record.
Stephen Lunn, 66, of Riceville, appeared for trial in provincial court on Feb. 5 and changed his plea to guilty on a charge of impaired driving. He was fined $2,000 and prohibited from driving for one year.
Lunn was charged by Woodstock Police following an incident on Sept. 21, 2024, in Woodstock.
Bobbie Joe Kenneson, 50, of Oakland, appeared for trial in provincial court on Feb. 5 and changed his plea to guilty on an impaired driving charge. He was fined $2,500 and prohibited from driving for 18 months.
Kenneson was charged by Woodstock Police in connection with an incident on Jan. 25, 2025, in Woodstock.
New trial date pending
Nicholas Robert Erikson, 34, of no fixed address, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 10 for monitoring about his trial.
He pleaded not guilty to charges laid by the RCMP, and his trial was booked for Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m. The court heard that he had retained new legal counsel, so a new trial date will be set on Thursday.
Erikson was denied bail when he appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Sept. 29, 2025. He was charged by the RCMP with breaking into a dwelling house, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest on Aug. 12, 2025, at Oak Mountain. Another charge was withdrawn by the Crown. Erikson has a prior criminal record.
Trial date in May
Brandon Williamson, 29, of Fredericton, appeared in provincial court on Feb. 10 for a monitoring hearing about his trial on an assault charge. The court heard he had legal counsel to proceed to trial.
At an earlier court appearance, Williamson pleaded not guilty, and his trial was booked for May 14 at 9:30 a.m. He was charged by the RCMP with assault involving a female victim, stemming from an incident on March 5, 2025, at Plaster Rock.
Trial on sex charges
Benjamin Greer, 27, of Weston, appeared in provincial court on Feb. 10 for a monitoring hearing about his trial in May on sex charges laid by the RCMP. The court heard some disclosure was still pending from the Crown. Another monitoring hearing was scheduled for March 10 at 1:30 p.m.
Greer appeared in provincial court in custody via video on March 13, 2025, for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. He pleaded not guilty to several charges, and his trial was set for May 7, 8, and 11 at 9:30 a.m.
Greer was charged with sexual assault, touching a minor for a sexual purpose, making sexually explicit material available to a minor, invitation to sexual touching, accessing child pornography, and using a computer system to facilitate an offence in connection with incidents between Aug. 1, 2024, and Jan. 31, 2025. at Teeds Mill. He also faces an additional charge of uttering threats to a female victim. As part of his release, Greer was ordered to have no contact with the complainants. He was placed under house arrest with permission to attend work.
Two charged in police chase
Brandon Schriver, 24, of Beaconsfield, will appear in provincial court on March 3 at 9:30 a.m. to answer two charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was scheduled for plea on Feb. 10 but was adjourned to the new date.
Schriver was charged with possession of ammunition while prohibited from having it, and possession of a stolen utility trailer following an incident on Nov. 17, 2025, at Meductic. He has a prior criminal record.
He appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Nov. 18, 2025, and was released on conditions, including wearing an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle.
A co-accused, Timothy Wheelan, 39, of Jacksonville, appeared in court in custody via video on Jan. 20. He was denied bail on Nov. 20, 2025, and returns to court in custody for plea on Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m.
Wheelan was charged with breach of a peace bond, possession of a stolen utility trailer, resisting arrest, dangerous driving, and flight from police for the same incident on Nov. 17, 2025. He is also facing drug trafficking charges, four threat charges and 48 firearm offences.
Charged with impaired
Mark Denis Polchies, 43, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 24 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on four charges laid by Woodstock Police.
Polchies was charged with impaired driving, refusing a breathalyzer, resisting arrest and mischief, causing property damage to a police cell, stemming from an incident on Oct. 26, 2025, at Beardsley Road. He was scheduled to enter a plea on Feb. 10 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Returning for plea
Jesse Andre, 38, of East Brighton, will appear in provincial court on March 2 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on five charges laid by the RCMP.
Andre was charged with aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, mischief, dangerous driving and one violation under the Motor Vehicle Act following an incident on Dec. 2, 2025, at East Brighton. He was scheduled to enter a plea on Feb. 10 when the matter was adjourned to allow him more time to consult legal counsel.
In custody awaiting plea
Christian Mario Albert, 39, of no fixed address, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 10 to answer charges laid by Woodstock Police. The matter was adjourned until March 5 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel. The court heard that a resolution is being sought with the Crown.
Albert appeared in provincial court in custody via video in November for a fitness hearing after completing a 30-day mental health assessment at Restigouche Hospital. He was found fit to stand trial and then waived his bail until later.
He appeared in provincial court in custody in October and was charged with attempting to steal a motor vehicle and breach of probation for an incident on Oct. 28, 2025, in Woodstock.
Trial delayed
Bianca Laqua, 35, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Feb. 5 for a pre-trial hearing after pleading not guilty to a breathalyzer charge laid by Woodstock Police. Her trial was set for December, but was adjourned because she lacked legal counsel to proceed.
Laqua returns to court on Feb. 25 at 9:30 a.m. for another pre-trial hearing. She was charged with refusing a breathalyzer in connection with an incident on Sept. 21, 2024, in Woodstock.
Not-guilty plea
Colton James VanHorne, 27, of Hartley Settlement, will appear for trial in provincial court on March 1 and March 10, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. Defence Counsel Peter Crocco pleaded not guilty to two charges on his behalf on Feb. 10.
VanHorne was charged by the RCMP with assault causing bodily harm to a female victim on May 30, 2025, at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation). Woodstock Police also charged him with impaired driving on June 22, 2025, in Woodstock.
Trial date pending
Ryan Woodward, 42, of Hartland, appeared in provincial court on Feb. 10 and pleaded not guilty to four charges laid by local police. He returns to court on Feb. 24 at 9:30 a.m. to set a trial date.
Woodward was charged with two counts of driving while suspended on Aug. 23, 2025, at Wakefield and on Sept. 3, 2025, in Woodstock. He was also charged with dangerous driving and flight from police on Sept. 3, 2025.
Agreed to peace bond
Deven Lennon, 31, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court on Feb. 10 for a monitoring hearing about his trial on two charges laid by the RCMP. He agreed to sign a 12-month peace bond, and the trial, booked for December, was cancelled.
Lennon was charged with uttering threats and breach of probation for an incident on Oct. 25, 2025, at Neqotkuk. The peace bond will result in the charges being withdrawn.
Sentencing decision Thursday
Morgan Nicholas, 30, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), will appear in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 12 at 1:30 p.m. for a decision on his sentence. He pleaded guilty to several charges laid by the RCMP.
On Feb. 10, Judge Rose Campbell heard closing submissions from both the Crown and defence counsel and then adjourned her decision to Thursday.
Crown Prosecutor Charles Couturier recommended Nicholas receive 12 months in jail, minus time served, and 12 months of probation. Couturier also requested a DNA order for the accused and a 10-year prohibition on firearms.
Defence Counsel Taylor Campbell asked for 111 days in jail or time served and 18 months of probation, as well as an order for Nicholas to undergo mental health counselling and treatment for addiction. He has a prior criminal record.
Nicholas appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 4, 2025, and was denied bail. On Jan. 13, he pleaded guilty to resisting arrest following an altercation on Nov. 29, 2025, at a residence in Neqotkuk. Another charge of breaching his release order was withdrawn by the Crown.
Nicholas also pleaded guilty to failing to attend court and assault causing bodily harm to a correctional officer on Jan. 21, 2024, at Madawaska. He also pleaded guilty to theft from a gas bar on May 25, 2025, in Perth-Andover, and two counts of breaching his house arrest on June 3 and Sept. 9, 2025, at Neqotkuk.
Firearm offence
Henrik Klassen, 30, of Fielding, will appear in provincial court on March 3 at 9:30 a.m. to answer a firearm charge.
Klassen was charged by the RCMP with careless use of a firearm concerning an incident on Oct. 9, 2025, in Fielding. He appeared in court for plea on Feb. 10 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Stolen vehicle allegation
Brandon Hamilton, 36, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Feb. 10 to answer three charges laid by Woodstock Police. The matter was adjourned for plea until March 3 at 9:30 a.m. to allow him more time to secure legal counsel.
Hamilton appeared in provincial court in custody via video for a bail hearing on Jan. 19 and was released with conditions.
He was arrested on a warrant after he failed to appear in provincial court on Dec. 30, 2025. Hamilton was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and two counts of driving while suspended on
June 9, 2025, in Woodstock.
Returning for plea
Jerod Nowlan, 40, of Rosedale, will appear in provincial court on March 10 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on charges laid by Woodstock Police.
Nowlan was charged with possession of a stolen motorcycle and altering a vehicle identification number on Aug. 5, 2025; flight from police on April 30, 2025; and fraud on Dec. 2, 2024, in Woodstock.
He was scheduled to enter a plea on Feb. 10 when the matter was adjourned to the new date. His defence counsel said a resolution is being sought with the Crown.
Arrested in Fredericton
Corey Andrew Lane, 40, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Feb. 10 to answer charges laid by Woodstock Police.
At the accused’s request, the matter was transferred to Fredericton for plea. A monitoring hearing was scheduled for May 12 at 9:30 a.m. in Woodstock to confirm his charges had been transferred.
Lane was charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited from having it, unauthorized possession of a firearm, break and enter, and failing to appear in court. He waived his bail until later. The court heard he was also arrested on other charges in Fredericton.
Mental health assessment
Daniel Ralph Arch, 50, of Northern Arm, Newfoundland, appeared in provincial court via teleconference on Feb. 9 for a monitoring hearing regarding his trial after pleading not guilty to one charge laid by the RCMP.
The court heard that a mental health assessment for the accused had not been completed as ordered. The matter was adjourned until March 2 at 9:30 a.m. for more monitoring so the assessment could be done.
Arch was charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm following an accident on March 27, 2024, at Dorrington Hill near Canterbury. His trial was postponed to allow the accused to complete a mental health assessment.
Plea adjourned
Daljit Singh, 26, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 26 at 1:30 p.m. for plea on three charges laid by Woodstock Police.
Singh was charged with refusing a breathalyzer, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance following an incident in Woodstock on March 29, 2025. He was scheduled to answer the charges on Feb. 10, but the matter was adjourned to the new date at his lawyer’s request. The court heard that a resolution is being sought with the Crown.
Facing more charges
Zachery Don Brooks, 21, of Lower Brighton, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 24 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on six new charges laid by the RCMP. He appeared in court on Feb. 10 when the matter was adjourned to allow him time to secure legal counsel.
He was charged with breaching a no-contact order, uttering threats, assault involving a female victim, assault with a weapon (a broom and a board), assault by choking and mischief causing property damage to a cell phone on Oct. 28, 2025, at Lower Brighton.
Brooks appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for a monitoring hearing about his multiple trials on 20 other charges. He pleaded not guilty, and trial dates were set for May 13 at 9:30 a.m., June 24 at 9:30 a.m., Aug. 20 at 9:30 a.m., and Aug. 24 at 9:30 a.m. He told the court he was still trying to secure legal counsel.
Brooks was charged by RCMP with five counts of assault involving a female victim, four counts of assault by choking, three counts of unlawful confinement, two counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon (a phone cord), assault while threatening to use a weapon (a knife), possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, mischief causing damage to a cell phone, and two counts of breaching a release order (no contact).
The charges were laid in connection with a series of incidents on Nov. 24, 2024, Feb. 12, Feb. 17, May 28, June 9, June 10 and June 11, 2025, in Lower Brighton; on June 3 and June 5, 2025, in Hartland, and on Feb. 19, 2025, in Woodstock.
