Meductic man facing charges
Matthew William Harris, 46, of Meductic, appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 to answer two charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until Nov. 25 at 9:30 a.m.
Harris was charged with assault by choking involving a female victim and committing mischief causing property damage following an incident on Sept. 2 in Meductic. He was released on an undertaking until his next court appearance.
Harris and co-accused, Robert Louis Michaud, 54, formerly of Grand Falls, and Adrienne Susan Dickison, 34, of Dow Settlement, are awaiting sentencing in Fredericton on drug trafficking charges related to an incident at the airport in Lincoln on Nov. 23, 2023.
240 days or time served
Brandon Levesque, 26, of Wapske, was sentenced to 240 days in jail or time served when he appeared in provincial court on Oct. 20 on charges laid by the RCMP. He was also placed on probation for 18 months.
Levesque was found guilty after trial of assault involving a female victim, but not guilty of assault by choking for an incident on Oct. 14, 2024, in Gordonsville. He pleaded guilty to assaulting the police for the same incident. The Crown withdrew two other breach charges. Levesque had a prior criminal record. He spent several months in custody on remand.
Trial set in violent assault
Andrew Pickel, 54, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 and pleaded not guilty to assaulting a local property tax assessor. His trial was set for Nov. 18, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Pickel was charged by the RCMP with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and indictable mischief following an incident on Aug. 28 in Woodstock. He appeared in provincial court in custody on Aug. 29 and was released on conditions, including the requirement to wear an ankle electronic monitoring device.
Robbery with violence
Stephen Mohan, 44, of St. Stephen, appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Oct. 20 for a bail hearing on four charges laid by the RCMP. His bail hearing was adjourned until Oct. 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Mohan was charged with possession of a weapon (a knife), dangerous to the public peace, uttering threats, and robbery of a motor vehicle using violence, concerning an incident on Oct. 17 at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation). He was also charged with resisting arrest on Oct. 17 at Canterbury.
Released on bail bond
Chad Clark, 47, of Mount Pleasant, appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Oct. 20 for a bail hearing. He posted at $2,000 bail bond and was released with conditions, including wearing an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle. He returns to court for plea on Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m.
Clark was charged by the RCMP with unlawful confinement, assault involving a female victim, uttering threats and mischief causing property damage to a phone for an incident on Oct. 17 at Moose Mountain. He was ordered to have no firearms and cannot have contact with the complainant.
Clark also appeared in provincial court on Aug. 26 after pleading not guilty to a separate robbery charge laid by the RCMP. His trial dates were set for Oct. 29 and Oct. 30, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. He was charged with robbery with violence in connection with the theft of a vehicle on Feb. 5 at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation).
Remanded for bail hearing
David Sisson, 42, of Hodgdon Road, appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Oct. 20 after being arrested on charges laid by Woodstock Police. He returns to court in custody for a bail hearing and plea on Oct. 23 at 9:30 a.m.
Sisson was charged with refusing a breathalyzer, resisting arrest, breach of an undertaking (no contact) and breaching a conditional sentence order in connection with an incident on Oct. 18 in Woodstock. He denied breaching his conditional sentence order, and a hearing about the allegation will also take place on Thursday.
Sisson was also charged at an earlier court appearance with breaching a release order (no-contact) in connection with an incident on June 7 at Florenceville-Bristol. He is still awaiting plea on that charge.
Sentencing adjourned
Nicholas William Sutthery, 40, of Arthurette, appeared in provincial court for sentencing on Oct. 21 after changing his plea to guilty on several charges laid by the RCMP.
The matter was adjourned until Nov. 3 at 2:30 p.m. to await the submission of a victim impact statement. Sutthery was released from custody with conditions in April. He spent seven months in remand after being denied bail. A sentence of time served is expected when he returns to court in November.
Sutthery was charged by the RCMP with three counts of uttering threats at Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation) on Sept. 25, assault with a weapon (ramming a vehicle), dangerous driving, break and enter at a dwelling house, and possession of a stolen ATV on May 27 in Perth Andover, and breach of an undertaking on July 16.
Sutthery was also charged with possession of a stolen truck in connection with an incident between Jan. 1 and Jan. 11 at Carlingford. He has a dated prior criminal record.
In custody awaiting trial
Justin Jones, 24, of Beechwood, appeared for trial in provincial court in custody on Oct. 20 after pleading not guilty to multiple charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was adjourned for monitoring until Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Jones was arrested on a warrant and denied bail on July 24. He was charged with assaulting a woman with a wooden stick and assault causing bodily harm for an incident on Feb. 5 in Piercemont; possession of a firearm without a licence (a 12-gauge, pump action shotgun), possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, uttering threats, breaching a no-contact order, and resisting arrest on July 9 at Beechwood. The charges were laid following a six-hour standoff with police.
Jinson awaiting plea
Jacob Jinson, 26, of Somerville, will appear in provincial court on Oct. 28 at 9:30 a.m. to answer three charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was scheduled for plea on Oct. 21, but was adjourned at the request of his defence counsel because Jinson failed to appear. A warrant was held on file.
Jinson was charged with uttering threats on April 10, 2024, in Somerville, breaching his curfew on April 20, 2024, and failing to appear in court on Aug. 6, 2024. The court heard that a resolution is being sought with the Crown.
Plea adjourned
Lucas Green, 21, of Richmond Settlement, appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 to enter a plea on a charge of breaching his release order. The matter was adjourned until Nov. 25 at 9:30 a.m.
Green appeared in provincial court in custody on Oct. 1 and was released with conditions. On Sept. 25, he had a bail hearing and was released on conditions, including the requirement to wear an ankle monitor.
RCMP charged Green with uttering threats on Aug. 13 at Richmond Corner; assaulting another man with a weapon (a metal pipe), and breach of a no-contact order on Sept. 21 in Mapledale.
Trial on drug charges
Vinal Todd Hatto, 40, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 to answer seven drug trafficking charges laid by Woodstock Police. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial date was set for Nov. 26-27, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Hatto was charged him with possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, heroine, oxcontyin, hydromorphone, and methylphenidate all for the purpose of trafficking on May 28 in Lower Woodstock.
On Sept. 2, Hatto was released from custody with conditions to a rehab facility in Moncton after being sentenced to time served on other separate charges. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 12, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Returning for plea
Cameron James Clark, 25, of Mapledale, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m. to enter a plea on several charges laid by the RCMP. He appeared in court on Oct. 21 when the matters were adjourned to the new date.
Clark appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Oct. 2 for a bail hearing and was released with conditions, including house arrest and a curfew. On Tuesday, the court heard that he may have to turn himself in to the police because he no longer has a place to reside.
Clark was charged with uttering threats, break and enter, assault causing bodily harm, mischief causing property damage, and dangerous driving concerning an incident on Sept. 17 in Mapledale. He was ordered to have no contact with the complainants.
Trial in February
Nicholas Erikson, 34, of no fixed address, appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Oct. 21 and pleaded not guilty to charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was set for Feb. 12, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Erikson was denied bail when he appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Sept. 29. RCMP charged him with breaking into a dwelling house, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest on Aug. 12 at Oak Mountain. The Crown withdrew one other charge.
Erikson has a prior criminal record. A monitoring date for his trial was set for Oct. 30 at 9:30 a.m.
Beechwood man signs peace bond
Nathan Vallee, 24, of Beechwood, appeared for trial in provincial court on Oct. 20 after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP. He agreed to sign a 12-month peace bond, and the trial did not proceed.
Vallee was charged with assault involving a female victim and uttering threats concerning an incident on Dec. 28, 2023, in Beechwood. The peace bond will result in the charges being withdrawn.
Charges for guns and drugs
Kurtis Stenger, 33, of Fredericton, Samuel Robert Crewe, 31, and Timothy Brian Wheelan, 37, both of Jacksonville, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 4 at 9:30 a.m. to answer multiple gun charges and drug trafficking charges laid by the RCMP.
The three men were each charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine, both for the purpose of trafficking, in connection with incidents between June 1 and June 13 in Jacksonville.
Stenger also faces 14 firearm charges in relation to the June 13 incident. Crewe has 13 firearm charges for the same incident and faces another charge of breaching a release order on March 6 in Woodstock. Wheelan has 48 gun charges from the June 13 incident, as well as three other separate charges for uttering threats on March 17, April 10, and Aug. 12, breach of a peace bond, and breach of a release order on Sept. 21.
Crewe was denied bail on July 24 on other separate charges. Woodstock Police charged him with being at large on a release order stemming from a June 24 incident in Woodstock, in violation of his house arrest. He pleaded not guilty, and a trial date was rescheduled for Jan. 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
He also faces additional charges of possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine, both for the purpose of trafficking, on March 19 in Woodstock. He pleaded not guilty, and a trial date was set for Jan. 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. The trial date was confirmed on Oct. 21, and a new monitoring date was set for Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m.
A co-accused, Kaylee Melinda Smith, has also been charged with drug trafficking and two counts of identity theft concerning the same incident on March 19 in Woodstock. She pleaded not guilty, and her trial was also set for Jan. 5, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Her trial date was confirmed on Oct. 21, and a new monitoring date was set for Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m.
Crewe also appeared in provincial court on June 3 and pleaded not guilty to three other charges laid by Woodstock Police, including flight from police, dangerous driving and breach of a release order on May 6 in Woodstock. His trial date was rescheduled for Jan. 26, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
He also appeared in provincial court on Feb. 18 and pleaded not guilty to four more charges laid by the RCMP. His trial date was set for Feb. 11, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Crewe was charged by the RCMP with possession of methamphetamine, flight from police, dangerous driving and driving while prohibited in connection with a single vehicle accident in Kirkland on Jan. 4. He has a prior criminal record.
Plea on multiple charges
Zachery Don Brooks, 21, of Lower Brighton, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on 20 charges laid by the RCMP.
He appeared in court on Oct. 21 when the matter was adjourned to the new date to allow him time to hire a new lawyer.
Brooks appeared in provincial court in custody by video for a bail hearing on June 19 and was released from custody on conditions, including house arrest. He was later arrested on a warrant for failing to appear and then released until his next court appearance.
Brooks was charged with five counts of assault involving a female victim, four counts of assault by choking, three counts of unlawful confinement, two counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon (a phone cord), assault while threatening to use a weapon (a knife), possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, mischief causing damage to a cell phone, and two counts of breaching a release order (no contact).
The charges were laid in connection with a series of incidents on Nov. 24, 2024; Feb. 12, Feb. 17, May 28, June 9, June 10, and June 11, in Lower Brighton; on June 3 and June 5 in Hartland; and on Feb. 19 in Woodstock. He was arrested and taken into custody on June 12.
Trial date pending
Chad Brooker, 36, of Centreville, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m. to set a date for his trial after pleading not guilty to sex charges laid by the RCMP. He appeared in court on Oct. 21 when the matter was adjourned to allow him more time to secure legal counsel.
Brooker was charged with sexual assault, touching a minor for a sexual purpose and invitation to sexual touching in connection with an incident between June 1 and Oct. 31, 2024, at Centreville.
He appeared in court in custody via teleconference on Aug. 8 after being arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court. He was released on an undertaking.
Awaiting plea on four charges
Luke Andrew Crawford, 18, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on four charges laid by Woodstock police. He was scheduled for plea on Oct. 21 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Crawford was charged with unlawful confinement, assault involving a female victim, and mischief causing property damage to a cell phone following an incident on Aug. 18 in Woodstock. He was also charged with mischief, causing damage to a set of car keys on Aug. 11 in Woodstock.
Facing assault charges
Kevin Smith, 48, of Hartley Settlement, appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 to answer three charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until Nov. 25 at 9:30 a.m.
Smith was charged with two counts of assault and uttering threats concerning an incident on July 22 at Juniper. He was released on an undertaking until his next court appearance.
Greenfield man has plea date
Jordan Hill, 21, of Greenfield, appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 to answer four charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until Nov. 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Hill was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, break and enter and committing mischief stemming from an incident on March 13 in Juniper.
Bail hearing rescheduled
Edward Hayes, Jr., 30, appeared in provincial court in custody on Oct. 21 for a bail hearing. At the request of his defence counsel, the bail hearing was adjourned until Nov. 6 at 9:30 a.m. He is also expected to enter a plea at that time.
Woodstock Police charged Hayes with dangerous driving, flight from police, driving while suspended, and breach of a release order concerning an incident on July 25 in Woodstock.
RCMP also charged him with obstructing police following an incident on Aug. 15 near Meductic when a male suspect jumped into the Eel River and was captured and taken into custody.
Hayes was also charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and theft of a motor vehicle on Aug. 14 in Benton. On Aug. 18, Hayes waived his bail until later and was remanded to jail.
On July 25, police were patrolling in the Benton area when they came across a male driving an ATV without a helmet. The driver was identified as Hayes, who was subject to several conditions, including a prohibition against driving and the requirement to wear an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle, which he allegedly cut off.
Police reported that Hayes rammed a police vehicle with his ATV when officers tried to stop him and then fled the scene.
A short time later, police observed Hayes driving his ATV through the parking lot of the RCMP detachment in Woodstock and across the front lawn at the Woodstock Courthouse. Both properties sustained minor damage.
Charged with trafficking in cocaine
Jacob Richard Sewell, 34, of Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation), appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 for a monitoring hearing about drug trafficking charges laid by Woodstock Police.
Sewell was charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine in connection with incidents on April 24 and May 2 in Woodstock. He pleaded not guilty, and trial dates were set for Feb. 19-20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. His trial dates were confirmed during his court appearance on Oct. 21.
Wotstak man remains in custody
Greg Paul McCormick, 36, of Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation), appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Oct. 21 to answer charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until Oct. 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
McCormick was denied bail when he appeared in provincial court in custody by video on Sept. 8. He was charged by RCMP with arson causing damage to a dwelling house, three counts of uttering threats, breaking into a dwelling house to commit mischief, three counts of assaulting a police officer while threatening to use gasoline, and causing injury to a dog by choking it in connection with an incident on June 25 at Wotstak.
He appeared in court on July 4 for a fitness hearing following a five-day mental health assessment at the Restigouche hospital. He was found fit to stand trial in accordance with his medical report. The court heard that a resolution is being sought with the Crown regarding the charges.
Not-guilty plea
Tamara Hamilton, 30, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 and pleaded not guilty to a breach charge laid by Woodstock Police. Her trial was booked for May 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Hamilton was charged with breaching a release order by being unlawfully at large on Sept. 9 at Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation). She appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Sept. 10 and was released with conditions.
Hamilton is also facing other separate charges. She and co-accused, Patrick Harris, 40, of Hartland, appeared in provincial court on April 8 to answer charges stemming from a shooting in Mainstream on Feb. 17. They are awaiting trial at the Court of King’s Bench.
Hamilton was released on Feb. 20 with conditions, including wearing an electronic monitoring device attached to her ankle. She was placed under house arrest with a curfew at a residence in Woodstock.
She was charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited (a sawed-off shotgun), possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, discharging a firearm at a place while reckless as to whether a person was present, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition without a licence, and being an occupant of a vehicle knowing it carried a gun.
Kilburn man charged
Colby Bell, 20, of Kilburn, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 25 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on an impaired driving charge.
The RCMP charged Bell following an incident on April 24 at Aroostook. He was scheduled for plea on Oct. 21 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Adjourned for plea
Cody Orland Doherty, 39, of no fixed address, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on two charges laid by the RCMP.
Doherty was charged with committing mischief and obstructing police in connection with an incident on May 20 in Florenceville-Bristol. He was scheduled for plea on Oct. 21 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Awaiting plea on four charges
Justin Porter, 43, of Plaster Rock, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 18 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on four charges laid by Woodstock Police.
Porter was charged with driving while suspended, dangerous driving, fleeing police and breach of probation concerning an incident on May 20 in Woodstock. He appeared in court on Oct. 21 when the matter was adjourned to allow him more time to consult legal counsel.
Glassville woman charged
Katrina Boucher, 48, of Glassville, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 4 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on an assault charge laid by the RCMP.
Boucher was charged with assault following an incident on April 19 at Juniper. She was scheduled to enter a plea on Oct. 21 when the matter was adjourned to the new date at the request of her defence counsel.
Resolution sought
David Frank Janssens, 25, of no fixed address, will appear in provincial court on Nov. 4 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on two charges laid by the RCMP.
Janssens was charged with arson and committing mischief on Oct. 25, 2023, in Woodstock. On Oct. 21, the court heard that a resolution is still being sought with the Crown, so another adjournment was granted.
Neqotkuk man has two charges
Aaron Barclay Moulton, 41, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 to answer two charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned for plea until Nov. 4 at 9:30 a.m.
Moulton appeared in provincial court in custody for a bail hearing on Aug. 11 and was released with conditions. He was arrested on a warrant on charges of assault and uttering threats concerning an incident at Neqotkuk.
Trial date rescheduled
Thomas Ross Corey, 38, of Lansdowne, will appear for trial in provincial court on Jan. 28, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to impaired driving.
Woodstock Police charged Corey following an incident on May 20 in Woodstock. His trial was booked for November but was rescheduled to the new date with the Crown’s consent.
Charged with drug trafficking
Charles Giberson, 46, of Rothesay, appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 for a monitoring hearing about his trial on a drug trafficking charge laid by Woodstock Police. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial date was set for Jan. 28, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Giberson was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, stemming from an incident on July 24, 2024, in Woodstock. Another monitoring date was booked for Dec. 2 at 9:30 a.m.
Sentencing set on multiple files
Crystal Lee Phillips, 44, of East Brighton, appeared in provincial court via teleconference on Oct. 20 and pleaded guilty to multiple charges. A date for her sentencing will be set on Nov. 19 at 9:30 a.m.
Phillips appeared in provincial court in custody by video on July 29 for a bail hearing. She was released with conditions to a rehab facility in Shediac with an ankle bracelet and under full house arrest. The court heard she is enrolled in a 12-month program.
Phillips was charged with breaching her release order (ankle bracelet) and breaking into a dwelling house on July 8 in Upper Woodstock. She postponed her plea on those charges until her court appearance on Nov. 19.
Phillips pleaded guilty to resisting arrest on March 16 in Wilmot. Another charge of breaching her release order (curfew) on March 17 was withdrawn. She is still scheduled for trial on April 2, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. on an additional charge of breaching her curfew on Jan. 23 in Woodstock.
Phillips pleaded guilty to flight from police and driving while suspended on Feb. 24, 2024, in Jacksonville. The Crown withdrew another charge of dangerous driving. A separate charge of driving while suspended on Feb. 6, 2024, was also withdrawn.
Woodstock Police also charged her with fraudulent impersonation, using a credit card knowing it was obtained by fraudulent means, and defrauding Walmart in Woodstock between Aug. 10, 2019, and June 23, 2023. Her trial date was maintained for Nov. 19 at 9:30 a.m.
Phillips also pleaded guilty to unlawful entry at a dwelling house and illegal possession of methamphetamine on March 31, 2024, in Woodstock.
Trial on breach charge
Morgan Nicholas, 28, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court on Oct. 21 and pleaded not guilty to a breach charge. His trial date was booked for Nov. 23, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Nicholas appeared in provincial court in custody by video for a bail hearing on Sept. 12 and was released with conditions. RCMP charged him with breach of a release order by being unlawfully at large following an incident on Sept. 9 at Neqotuk.
Nicholas and Brandon Michael Francis, 30, also Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), will also appear for trial in provincial court on Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Francis and Nicholas pleaded not guilty to breaking into a dwelling house, mischief causing property damage to a door and window, and assaulting another man with a wooden two-by-four in connection with an incident on April 29 at Neqotkuk. Francis also faces additional charges of uttering threats, resisting arrest, and breach of probation concerning the same incident. Both men have prior criminal records.
Francis was denied bail on Aug. 19. The RCMP charged him with breaching his release order by violating the conditions of electronic monitoring and mischief, causing damage to his ankle bracelet on May 1 in Perth-Andover, and breaching his house arrest on May 8. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial will be held on Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
Nicholas appeared in provincial court on July 10 to answer two other separate charges laid by the RCMP. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial date was set for Jan. 12, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

He was arrested on June 3 and charged with theft from a gas bar and breaching his release order concerning an incident on May 25 at Neqotkuk.
