Sentencing for possession of child pornography
Corey Dean Bartlett, 56, of Perth-Andover, will appear for sentencing in provincial court in custody on Jan. 21 at 1:30 p.m. after changing his plea to guilty on a charge of possession of child pornography.
Bartlett was charged by the RCMP in connection with an incident on February 7, 2017, at Tobique Narrows. A federal prison sentence is expected for the accused.
Bartlett has spent several months in custody, on remand. He appeared in court in custody for a bail hearing in September and waived his bail.
Handed conditional sentence order
Sheldon Marr Brewer, 28, of Zealand, received a six-month conditional sentence with a court order to undergo treatment for addiction when he appeared in provincial court on Jan. 20. He was also fined $1,200 for a driving offence.
Marr-Brewer was charged by the RCMP with breaking into a dwelling house, resisting arrest, flight from police, and dangerous driving concerning an incident on March 12, 2024, near Cloverdale. He pleaded guilty to forcible entry at a dwelling house, driving while suspended and resisting arrest. The remaining charges were withdrawn by the Crown.
The court heard police tried to stop Marr-Brewer for driving without a licence, but he sped away and later burst into a senior’s home on foot to escape arrest. He then led police on a chase through the woods before police dogs tracked him down.
After spending a few days in jail, Marr-Brewer was released from custody with an electronic monitoring device attached to his ankle. The ankle bracelet was removed after his sentencing on Tuesday. He had a limited prior criminal record.
The Crown told the court that Marr-Brewer deserved a four-month jail sentence for his crimes. However, his defence lawyer argued he had stayed out of trouble since the incident and had been wearing the ankle bracelet for nearly two years.
10 days and $1,000 fine
Robert Louis Michaud, 54, formerly of Grand Falls, was sentenced to 10 days in jail and fined $1,000 when he appeared in provincial court in custody via video from federal prison on Jan. 20. He was also prohibited from driving for one year.
Michaud pleaded guilty to breaching a release order by failing to report to police between May 10 and June 23, 2025, and two counts of driving while suspended on June 4 and June 6, 2025, in Woodstock. The charges were laid by Woodstock Police.
Michaud, Matthew Harris, 46, of Meductic, and Adrienne Susan Dickison, 34, of Dow Settlement, were all charged for an incident at the airport in Lincoln on Nov. 23, 2023, when a quantity of crystal meth was seized by police.
Michaud and Dickison were each sentenced in September to two years in federal prison. Harris was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison on Nov. 20, 2025.
Fined for impaired
Sherry Murphy, 59, of Plaster Rock, pleaded guilty to impaired driving and was fined $1,000 when she appeared in provincial court on Jan. 20. She was also prohibited from driving for one year.
Murphy was charged by the RCMP with impaired driving by drugs stemming from an incident on Nov. 18, 2024, in Perth-Andover. She had no prior criminal record.
Waived bail until later
Clay Hargrove, 30, of Beechwood, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 19 for a bail hearing after being arrested on a warrant. He waived his bail and will return to court in custody on Feb. 5 at 9:30 a.m.
Hargrove pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm to another man and possession of a stolen ATV for an incident on Aug. 27, 2024, at Upper Kent, but failed to return for sentencing. He also faces charges of resisting arrest and identity fraud.
On Jan. 13, Hargrove was charged with failing to appear in court and a probation violation on Jan. 8. His sentencing will be addressed after his plea on the newer charges.
Stolen vehicle allegation
Brandon Hamilton, 36, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody via video for a bail hearing on Jan. 19. He was released from custody with conditions and returns to court for plea on Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m.
Hamilton was arrested on a warrant after he failed to appear in provincial court on Dec. 30, 2025, for plea on three charges laid by Woodstock Police. Hamilton was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and two counts of driving while suspended.
Facing nine charges
Dawson Boyle, 25, of Taymouth, will appear in provincial court in custody for plea on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. on nine charges laid by Woodstock Police.
Boyle was charged with multiple counts of possession of stolen property following an incident on Aug. 24, 2025, in Woodstock. He will also appear in court in custody in Saint John on Feb. 2 in relation to other separate charges.
Two charged following police chase
Brandon Schriver, 24, of Beaconsfield, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m. to answer two charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was scheduled for plea on Jan. 20 but was adjourned to the new date.
Schriver was charged with possession of ammunition while prohibited from having it, and possession of a stolen utility trailer following an incident on Nov. 17, 2025, at Meductic. He has a prior criminal record.
He appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Nov. 18, 2025, and was released on conditions, including the requirement to wear an ankle electronic monitoring device.
A co-accused, Timothy Wheelan, 39, of Jacksonville, appeared in court in custody via video on Jan. 20. He was denied bail on Nov. 20, 2025, and returns to court in custody for plea on Feb. 5 at 9:30 a.m.
Wheelan was charged with breach of a peace bond, possession of a stolen utility trailer, resisting arrest, dangerous driving, and flight from police for the same incident on Nov. 17, 2025. He is also facing drug trafficking charges, four threat charges and 48 firearm offences.
Theft and fraud charges
Sherry Lynn Williams, 61, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 20 for plea on six charges laid by Woodstock Police. The matter was adjourned until Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. at the request of her defence counsel.
Williams was charged with three counts of theft and three counts of fraud stemming from three separate incidents in Woodstock between Feb. 19, 2019, and June 7, 2019; between March 6, 2019, and April 22, 2019; and between Jan. 13, 2017, and June 5, 2019. The alleged victims were special needs adults.
The court heard that a resolution is being sought with the Crown. At an earlier court appearance, Williams expressed her intention to plead guilty to the charges.
Agreed to peace bond
Willard O’Donnell, 51, of Napodogan, appeared for trial in provincial court on Jan. 19 after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP. He agreed to sign a 12-month peace bond, and the trial was cancelled.
O’Donnell was charged with assault with a weapon (a vehicle) and failing to stop at the scene of an accident in connection with an incident on Jan. 18, 2024, in Florenceville-Bristol. The peace bond will result in the assault charge being withdrawn. The Crown also withdrew the second charge as part of the resolution.
Six new charges
Zachery Don Brooks, 21, of Lower Brighton, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. to answer six new charges laid by the RCMP. He was scheduled to be in court on Jan. 20 when the matter was adjourned. A warrant will be held on file, as Brooks was not present in court on Tuesday.
Brooks appeared in provincial court on Jan. 6 for a monitoring hearing about his multiple trials on 20 other charges. He pleaded not guilty, and trial dates were set for May 13 at 9:30 a.m., June 24 at 9:30 a.m., Aug. 20 at 9:30 a.m., and Aug. 24 at 9:30 a.m. He told the court he was still trying to secure legal counsel.
Brooks was charged by RCMP with five counts of assault involving a female victim, four counts of assault by choking, three counts of unlawful confinement, two counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon (a phone cord), assault while threatening to use a weapon (a knife), possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, mischief causing damage to a cell phone, and two counts of breaching a release order (no contact).
The charges were laid in connection with a series of incidents on Nov. 24, 2024, Feb. 12, Feb. 17, May 28, June 9, June 10 and June 11, 2025, in Lower Brighton; on June 3 and June 5, 2025, in Hartland, and on Feb. 19, 2025, in Woodstock.
Two assault charges
Noah Saulis, 24, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court on Jan. 20 to answer an assault charge. The matter was adjourned for plea until Feb. 17 at 9:30 a.m.
Saulis was charged by the RCMP with assaulting a female victim in connection with an incident on Dec. 13, 2025, at Aroostook.
He will also appear for trial in provincial court on Dec. 21 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to another assault charge laid by the RCMP. Saulis was charged with assaulting another man on June 20, 2025, in Perth-Andover.
Adjourned for plea
Allison Drier, 47, of Carlow, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on three charges laid by the RCMP.
Drier was charged with two counts of uttering threats and mischief, causing property damage to a vehicle following an incident on Aug. 2, 2025, at Carlow. He was scheduled to appear in provincial court on Jan. 20 when his lawyer requested the matter be adjourned to the new date.
Awaiting trial date
Robin Sappier, 47, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), will appear in provincial court on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. to set a date for her trial after pleading not guilty to an assault charge laid by the RCMP.
Sappier was charged with assaulting a male victim on Aug. 28, 2025, at Neqotkuk. She appeared in court on Jan. 20 when the matter was adjourned to the new date to allow her more time to secure legal counsel.
In custody awaiting plea
Christian Mario Albert, 39, of no fixed address, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 20 to answer charges laid by Woodstock Police. The matter was adjourned until Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.
Albert appeared in provincial court in custody via video in November for a fitness hearing after completing a 30-day mental health assessment at Restigouche Hospital. He was found fit to stand trial and then waived his bail until later.
He appeared in provincial court in custody in October and was charged with attempting to steal a motor vehicle and breach of probation for an incident on Oct. 28, 2025, in Woodstock.
Woodstock woman awaiting trial
Georgia Wilson, 20, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 20 and pleaded not guilty to three charges laid by the RCMP. Her trial date was set for July 31 at 9:30 a.m.
Wilson was charged with resisting arrest on July 22, 2025, at Wilmot, breaching an undertaking (no contact), and resisting arrest on July 26, 2025, at Summerfield.
Firearm offence
Henrik Klassen, 30, of Fielding, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m. to answer a firearm charge.
Klassen was charged by the RCMP with careless use of a firearm concerning an incident on Oct. 9, 2025, in Fielding. He made his first court appearance on Jan. 13 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
Charged with impaired
Marci Rai Cheney, 35, of Bedell, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. to answer an impaired driving charge.
Cheney was charged by Woodstock Police stemming from an incident on Aug. 20, 2025, in Woodstock. She was scheduled for her first court appearance on Jan. 13 when the matter was adjourned to the new date.
