Woodstock Provincial Court: Woman charged with attempted murder to enter plea in February

Plea delayed on attempted murder charge

Destiny Dawn Innis, 23, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 23 at 1:30 p.m. for plea on a charge of attempted murder.  She was scheduled to enter a plea on Jan. 12, but the matter was adjourned to allow the Crown to provide further disclosure of police evidence.

Innis was charged by Woodstock Police following a violent altercation at a downtown residence on Oct. 20, 2024, when a 74-year-old woman was assaulted and stabbed in her home.

Following a bail hearing, Innis was released from custody under house arrest at a residence at Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation). She was required to wear an electronic monitoring device attached to her ankle and must have no contact with the victim. She had no prior criminal record.

The victim was transported to the Upper River Valley Hospital and later transferred to the Saint John Regional Hospital with serious injuries. Woodstock Police, the Woodstock Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick were called to her home on Houlton Street around 9 p.m.

Two remanded for bail hearing

Kaylee Melinda Smith of Centreville appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Jan. 13 to answer new charges laid by the RCMP.  She was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on Jan. 15 at 9:30 a.m.

Smith was charged with possession of a firearm without a licence, transporting firearms in a careless manner, being an occupant of a vehicle knowing it carried a firearm, and illegal transport of ammunition concerning an incident on Jan. 13 at Lindsay.

A co-accused, Nicholas Hamilton, was also remanded to jail after being arrested in relation to the same incident. He returns to court in custody for a bail hearing on Jan. 15 at 1:30 p.m.

Hamilton was charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, possession of a firearm while prohibited from having it, possession of a firearm without a licence (a shotgun and rifle), transporting firearms in a careless manner, and being an occupant of a vehicle knowing it carried a firearm.

Smith will also appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a. m. to set a date for her sentencing on two other charges. Smith pleaded guilty to two counts of identity theft for an incident on March 19, 2025, in Woodstock.

She was also charged with flight from police and dangerous driving on July 10, 2025, in Hartland. She pleaded not guilty, and her trial date was set for Dec. 3 at 1:30 p.m.

Smith was also charged with fleeing police on Oct. 20, 2025, in Woodstock and will enter a plea when she returns to court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m.

Suspended sentence, probation on drug charge

Dominique Gray, 24, of Wilmot, appeared in provincial court in custody on Jan. 13 after being arrested on charges in Edmundston. She pleaded guilty to a drug charge laid by Woodstock RCMP and was released from custody.

Gray pleaded guilty to an indictable possession of methamphetamine in connection with a search warrant executed at a residence in Kirkland on May 29. She received a suspended sentence and 12 months of probation. She was also ordered to seek counselling for addiction. She had no prior criminal record.

Two charged in Charles Street assault

Two local men, charged in connection with a serious assault near the Knights of Columbus Hall on Charles Street, returned to court to answer charges.

Jacob David Murray Munn, 31, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 for plea on a charge of aggravated assault. The matter was adjourned until Jan. 28 at 1:30 p.m. to allow for further disclosure from the Crown.

Munn appeared in provincial court on Dec. 18 in custody for a bail hearing and was released on conditions, including a curfew. On Jan. 13, his conditions were varied to allow him to return to a residence in Woodstock. He must abstain from alcohol and drugs during his release.

Munn was charged by Woodstock Police with aggravated assault on another man by wounding him on Dec. 7, 2025. The charge was laid after the victim was transported to the hospital in Fredericton for treatment of serious injuries. Munn has no prior criminal record.

Colton Kyle Weeks, 29, of Rosedale, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 5 and pleaded not guilty. His trial date was set for Jan. 28-29, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. He was released from custody on a $2,500 bail bond, with conditions, on Dec. 15, 2025.

Weeks was charged by Woodstock Police with pointing a firearm at another person, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, and careless use of a firearm on Dec. 7, 2025, in Woodstock. He has no prior criminal record.

210 days or time served

Loic Boulay, 22, of Oromocto, was sentenced to 210 days in jail or time served when he appeared for sentencing in provincial court on Jan. 12. He was also placed on 12 months of probation and ordered to seek counselling as required.

Boulay appeared in provincial court in December, in custody via video, and was released on conditions until his sentencing. He pleaded guilty to several charges laid by Woodstock Police. The court heard he spent several months in custody since his arrest last summer.

He pleaded guilty to breaching an undertaking (no-contact) and assault involving a female victim between July 4 and July 15, 2025, near Northampton and Woodstock. He also pleaded guilty to uttering threats on July 15, 2025, in Northampton. Two other charges were withdrawn by the Crown.

In addition, Boulay pleaded guilty to breaching a no-contact order and unlawful entry at a dwelling house on St. John Street on May 25, 2025, in Woodstock. Another mischief charge was withdrawn by the Crown. He had no prior criminal record. Boulay was denied bail on July 28, 2025.

Fined $2,500 for impaired

Lucais Salmon, 30, of Maplehurst, was fined $2,500 when he appeared in provincial court for sentencing on Jan. 13 after pleading guilty to impaired driving. He was also prohibited from driving for 15 months.

Salmon was charged by the RCMP in connection with an accident on June 4, 2025, at Carlow when a vehicle left the highway on a curve, struck a parked car in the driveway, and then rolled over. The court heard Salmon’s blood alcohol reading was nearly double the legal limit. He had no prior criminal record.

Sentenced on multiple charges

Rachel Sockabasin, 40, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared for sentencing in provincial court on Jan. 12 after pleading guilty to multiple charges laid by the RCMP.  

She was sentenced to 25 days in jail, or time served, and a seven-month conditional sentence order. She was also placed on 12 months of probation.  The conditional sentence order requires her to follow a curfew and seek counselling for drug addiction.

Sockabasin pleaded guilty to theft at the Ultramar in Carlingford on Aug. 11, 2023, on Dec. 22, 2023, and on Feb. 12, 2024; guilty to breaching of probation on Feb. 12, 2024; and breaching a release order on Sept. 4 and Nov. 9, 2025, at Perth-Andover; guilty to theft at Mark’s Store in Grand Falls on Sept. 4, 2025; guilty to theft at the Superstore in Grand Falls and obstructing police on April 1, 2025; failing to report to the police between July 4 and Aug. 22, 2025; and breaching a release order on July 8, 2025, in Grand Falls.

Sockabasin appeared in provincial court in custody via video in November 2025 for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. The court heard she spent several days in remand.

Sentencing in April

Jarrett Waugh, 32, of Beardsley Road, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 and changed his plea to guilty on one charge laid by the RCMP. His sentencing date was set for April 28 at 1:30 p.m.

Waugh was charged with criminal harassment through repeated electronic messages between May 17 and July 16, 2025, at McKenna. He was ordered to have no contact with the complainant.

East Brighton man awaits sentencing

Ozzie Jr. Trecartin, 31, of East Brighton, appeared for sentencing in provincial court on Jan. 13 after changing his plea to guilty on charges laid by the RCMP. His sentencing was adjourned until April 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the request of his defence counsel.

Trecartin pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm without a licence, storage of multiple firearms in a careless manner, and resisting arrest on July 21, 2024, in East Brighton. He also pleaded guilty to impaired driving and two counts of driving while suspended on July 21, 2024, in Peel.

Other charges of attempted murder, reckless discharge of a firearm at a place while a person was inside, two counts of indictable assault against another man, and uttering threats were withdrawn by the Crown.

Trecartin appeared in provincial court via video in custody for a bail hearing on July 30, 2024, and was released on conditions. He was ordered not to possess any firearms.

Break-in on Searle Street

Two men remain in custody on charges related to a break-in on Searle Street in Woodstock on Nov. 24, 2025.

Bastian Kitchener Bradbury of Fredericton and Michael Ronald McKee of Woodstock were each charged with breaking into a woodworking shop, possession of stolen tools, possession of a stolen vehicle (a Mazda CX5), possession of break-in tools, and prowling at night. Bradbury also faces a charge of wearing a mask while committing an offence.

On Jan. 12, Bradbury waived his bail until later and will return to court in custody for a plea on Jan. 29 at 9:30 a.m. McKee will appear in custody on Jan. 15 at 9:30 a.m. for a bail hearing. McKee is also scheduled to enter a plea to his charges on Jan. 29 at 9:30 a.m. The court heard they are also in custody on other charges in Fredericton.

Arrested in Fredericton

Corey Andrew Lane, 40, of Woodstock, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 13 to answer charges laid by Woodstock Police.

Lane was charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited from having it, unauthorized possession of a firearm, break and enter, and failing to appear in court. He returns to court in custody for plea on Jan. 29 at 9:30 a.m. The court heard he was arrested on other charges in Fredericton.

Trial on multiple charges

Patrick Campbell, 29, of Carlingford, will appear for trial in provincial court on March 2 and March 5 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to multiple charges laid by the RCMP.

Campbell was charged with breaching a no-contact order and obstructing the course of justice following an incident on March 3, 2025, at Carlingford. He pleaded not guilty and was released with conditions.

Campbell also pleaded not guilty to other charges of sexual assault involving a female victim, assault causing bodily harm, assault by choking, assault with a weapon (a knife), attempting to obstruct justice, and administering a noxious substance, in connection with incidents between 2020 and 2024 in Victoria County.

A monitoring hearing was held on Jan. 12 when his defence counsel requested a pre-trial conference on Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m. Campbell did not appear, so a warrant was held on file.

Plea adjourned

Daljit Singh, 26, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 10 at 1:30 p.m. for plea on three charges laid by Woodstock Police.

Singh was charged with refusing a breathalyzer, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance following an incident in Woodstock on March 29, 2025. He was scheduled to answer the charges on Jan. 13, but the matter was adjourned to the new date at his lawyer’s request.

Returning for plea

Zacheriah Warman, 25, of Salisbury, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. to answer one charge laid in Woodstock.

Warman was charged with transmitting an intimate image without consent for an incident on July 6, 2024. He was scheduled to appear in provincial court on Jan. 13 when the matter was adjourned to the new date. The court heard that a resolution is being sought with the Crown.

In custody awaiting plea

Steven Frank Powers, 60, of Plaster Rock, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 13 to answer two charges laid by the RCMP.

Powers was charged with nudity and committing an indecent act in connection with an incident between June 17 and 25, 2025, in Plaster Rock. He returns to court for plea on Jan. 29 at 9:30 a.m. The court heard he was remanded on other separate charges in Edmundston.

Held for bail hearing

Clay Hargrove, 30, of Beechwood, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 13 after being arrested on a warrant. He returns to court in custody via video for a bail hearing on Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Hargrove pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm to another man and possession of a stolen ATV for an incident on Aug. 27, 2024, at Upper Kent. He also faces charges of resisting arrest and identity fraud. On Jan. 13, he was charged with failing to attend court and breach of probation on Jan. 8.

Remanded for trial date

Christopher Thomas O’Keefe, 27, of Fielding, appeared in provincial court in custody via teleconference on Jan. 12 after being arrested on a warrant for failing to appear for trial. He waived his bail until later and was remanded to jail until Jan. 22 at 9:30 a.m. to set a new trial date.

O’Keefe was charged by the RCMP with sexual assault in connection with an incident on Feb. 26, 2023, at Upper Brighton. He pleaded not guilty, and his trial date was set for Dec. 18, 2025.

Returning for plea

Jerod Nowlan, 40, of Rosedale, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on charges laid by Woodstock Police.

Nowlan was charged with possession of a stolen motorcycle and altering a vehicle identification number on Aug. 5, 2025; flight from police on April 30, 2025; and fraud on Dec. 2, 2024, in Woodstock.

He was scheduled to enter a plea on Jan. 13 when the matter was adjourned to the new date at the request of his defence counsel.

Not-guilty plea

Joseph Foster, 35, of Upper Woodstock, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 and pleaded not guilty to three charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was booked for Feb. 1, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.

Foster was charged with assault involving a female victim, assault by choking, and uttering threats stemming from an incident on Sept. 23, 2025, in Upper Woodstock. A monitoring hearing was also set for May 19 at 9:30 a.m.

Windsor man charged

Dwight Thornton, 71, of Windsor, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 and pleaded not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was booked for Feb. 5, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.

Thornton was charged with assault involving a female victim and uttering threats concerning an incident on Nov. 22, 2025, at Windsor. A monitoring hearing was also scheduled for May 12 at 9:30 a.m. to confirm he has legal counsel to proceed to trial.

Greenfield man awaiting trial

William Miller, 54, of Greenfield, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 and pleaded not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was set for Jan. 25, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.

Miller was charged with impaired driving and driving while prohibited concerning an incident in May, 2025 in Bairdsville. A monitoring hearing was also booked for July 14 at 9:30 a.m. to confirm he has legal counsel to proceed to trial.

Awaiting trial date

Chad Brooker, 36, of Centreville, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 to set a date for his trial on charges laid by the RCMP. The matter was adjourned until Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. at the request of his defence counsel.

Brooker pleaded not guilty to sexual assault, touching a minor for a sexual purpose and invitation to sexual touching in connection with an incident between June 1 and Oct. 31, 2024, at Centreville. He appeared in court in custody in November 2025 after being arrested on a warrant and was released with conditions.

Released until sentencing

Kyrin Moulton, 20, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), was scheduled to appear in provincial court on Jan. 13 to set a new date for his sentencing hearing. He failed to appear, and an arrest warrant was issued.

Moulton pleaded guilty to uttering threats against another man and breach of probation on Sept. 8, 2025, in Perth-Andover; guilty to breach of probation on Sept. 17, 2025, at Perth-Andover; and guilty to unlawful entry at a dwelling house on Sept. 25, 2025, in Perth-Andover. Another charge of possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles) was withdrawn by the Crown.

He was released from custody on Dec. 23, 2025, after four months in jail, subject to conditions. A sentence of time served was expected to be handed down on Tuesday, but Moulton was not in court.

Trial on assault charge

Leon McGraw, 62, of Hartin Settlement, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 and pleaded not guilty to an assault charge dating back to 2022. His trial was set for Jan. 4, 2027, at 9:30 a.m.

McGraw appeared in provincial court in December, in custody via teleconference, and was released on conditions. He was charged with assaulting another man on April 1, 2022, in Canterbury. The court heard that a resolution is being sought with the Crown.

Returning for plea

Colton James VanHorne, 27, of Hartley Settlement, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on two charges.

VanHorne was charged by the RCMP with assault causing bodily harm to a female victim on May 30, 2025, at Wotstak (Woodstock First Nation). Woodstock Police also charged him with impaired driving on June 22, 2025, in Woodstock. He was scheduled to enter a plea on Jan. 13 when the matter was adjourned to allow him more time to consult legal counsel.

Alleged assault at Neqotkuk

Brydon Nicholas, 20, of Perth-Andover, will appear for trial in provincial court on Feb. 4, 2027, at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to an assault charge.

The RCMP charged Nicholas after an incident on Nov. 1, 2025, at Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation). His lawyer entered a plea on his behalf via teleconference on Jan. 13. A monitoring hearing was also booked for May 12 at 9:30 a.m.

Sexual assault charge

Dana Allison MacKay, 42, of Woodstock, will appear in provincial court on Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. to enter a plea on a sex charge.

The Woodstock Police charged MacKay with sexual assault in connection with an incident on Sept. 21, 2019, in Woodstock. He was scheduled to enter a plea on Jan. 13 when the matter was adjourned to allow him more time to secure legal counsel.

Hartland man awaiting plea

Ryan Woodward, 42, of Hartland, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 to answer four charges laid by local police. The matter was adjourned for plea until Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m. to allow him more time to retain counsel.

Woodward was charged with two counts of driving while suspended on Aug. 23, 2025, at Wakefield and on Sept. 3, 2025, in Woodstock. He was also charged with dangerous driving and flight from police on Sept. 3, 2025.

Trial booked

Joshua Williams, 28, of Centreville, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 and pleaded not guilty to assault. His trial was set for Jan. 22, 2027, at 1:30 p.m.

The RCMP charged Williams with assault involving a female victim concerning an incident on Aug. 23, 2025, in Centreville. A monitoring hearing was also booked for April 14 at 9:30 a.m.

Dangerous driving

Joshua Perley, 24, of Neqotkuk  (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 to answer a dangerous driving charge. The matter was adjourned for plea until Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m. to allow him more time to consult legal counsel.

Released from custody

Joseph Nicholas of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation) will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on charges laid by the RCMP.

The RCMP charged Nicholas with two counts of assault and committing mischief for an incident on Aug. 3, 2025, at Neqotkuk. He appeared in custody via video in November for a bail hearing and was released with conditions. He was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court.

Facing two charges

Benjamin Richardson, 34, of Lower Brighton, will appear for trial in provincial court on Dec. 14  at 1:30 p.m. after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP.

Richardson was charged with uttering threats and assault concerning an incident on Sept. 9, 2025, in Lower Brighton. On Jan. 13, a monitoring hearing confirmed he had legal counsel to proceed to trial. The court heard a resolution may be sought with the Crown.

Fredericton man to stand trial

Jeremy William Graves, 31, of Fredericton, will appear for trial in provincial court on Nov. 4 at 1:30 p.m. after pleading not guilty to two charges laid by Woodstock Police.

Graves was charged with uttering threats and assaulting another man following an incident on April 10, 2025, in Woodstock. A monitoring hearing was held on Jan. 13 to confirm he had legal counsel to proceed to trial.

Glassville man to stand trial

Timothy Maurice Thibodeau, 42, of Glassville, appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 to set a new date for his trial on charges laid by the RCMP.

Thibodeau pleaded not guilty to possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking on Nov. 28, 2023, in Oakland, uttering threats on Sept. 4, 2023, at Hartland, and failing to appear in court on Oct. 24, 2024.

At the request of his defence counsel, his trial was scheduled for July 30-31 at 9:30 a.m. for the drug charge and Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m. on the remaining two charges.

Plea on four charges

Natasha Ginson, 35, of Mainstream, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. for plea on four charges laid by the RCMP.

Ginson was charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer, uttering threats and possession of a stolen ATV stemming from an incident on May 18, 2025, at Riverbank. She was scheduled to enter a plea on Jan. 13, but the matter was adjourned to the new date at her lawyer’s request.

Beechwood woman to enter plea

Courtney Demerchant, 28, of Beechwood, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m. to answer charges laid by Woodstock Police. She was scheduled to enter a plea on Jan. 13 when the matter was adjourned at the request of her defence counsel.

Demerchant was charged with assaulting a male victim in connection with an incident on Feb. 15, 2025, in Woodstock.

She will also appear for trial in provincial court on July 22 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to two other assault charges laid by the RCMP.

Demerchant was charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm concerning an incident on Nov. 5, 2024, in Beechwood.

Trial in December

Deven Lennon, 31, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), appeared in provincial court on Jan. 13 and pleaded not guilty to two charges laid by the RCMP. His trial was booked for Dec. 17 at 9:30 a.m.

Lennon was charged with uttering threats and breach of probation for an incident on Oct. 25, 2025, at Neqotkuk. A monitoring hearing was scheduled for Feb. 10 at 9:30 a.m.

Trial in February

Collin Francis Bear, 35, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), will appear for trial in provincial court on Feb. 23 at 9:30 a.m. after pleading not guilty to an assault charge laid by the RCMP.

Bear was charged in connection with an incident at Neqotkuk in 2024. He was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 12, when his legal counsel confirmed the trial date. The court heard that a resolution is being sought with the Crown.

Sentencing in February

Morgan Nicholas, 28, of Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation), will appear in provincial court in custody for sentencing on Feb. 10 at 1:30 p.m. after pleading guilty to charges laid by the RCMP.

Nicholas appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Dec. 4, 2025, and was denied bail. On Jan. 13, he pleaded guilty to resisting arrest following an altercation on Nov. 29, 2025, at a residence in Neqotkuk. Another charge of breaching his release order was withdrawn by the Crown.

Nicholas also pleaded guilty to failing to attend court and assault causing bodily harm to a correctional officer on Jan. 21, 2024, at Madawaska. He also pleaded guilty to theft from a gas bar on May 25, 2025, in Perth-Andover, and two counts of breaching his house arrest on June 3 and Sept. 9, 2025, at Neqotkuk.

Trial for alleged break-in

Nicholas Robert Erikson, 34, of no fixed address, appeared in provincial court in custody via video on Jan. 13 for a monitoring hearing about his upcoming trial. He confirmed he has legal counsel to proceed.

Erikson was denied bail when he appeared in provincial court via video while in custody on Sept. 29, 2025. The RCMP charged him with breaking into a dwelling house, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest on Aug. 12, 2025, at Oak Mountain.

He pleaded not guilty, and his trial was set for Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m. Another charge was withdrawn by the Crown. Erikson has a prior criminal record.

Seeking further disclosure

Dale Boyle, 70, of no fixed address, will appear in provincial court on Jan. 27 at 1:30 p.m. for another monitoring hearing about his trial on one charge laid by the RCMP.  On Jan. 13, the court heard that further disclosure from the Crown was still outstanding.

Boyle is scheduled for trial on Feb. 13and Feb. 18 at 9:30 a.m. He pleaded not guilty to making a visual recording of another person without their consent, where there was a reasonable expectation of privacy, in connection with an incident between Feb. 1 and Aug. 10, 2024, at Plaster Rock. The court heard the charges involved two victims and a hidden camera, which was allegedly pointed toward a shower in a private bathroom.
