Kilcollins gets one year minus time served
Gary Frederick Kilcollins, 48, of Woodstock, was sentenced to 365 days in jail, minus time served, when he appeared in provincial court in custody on June 11. He pleaded guilty to a series of thefts and a break-in at a camper trailer at Connell Park last April.
Judge Sebastian Michaud also placed Kilcollins on 12 months of probation and ordered him to register with the federal DNA database. He must seek counselling for drug addiction and pay $604 in restitution for damage to the camper trailer and stealing a TV. Kilcollins will have 129 days left to serve once his remand time is applied. He had a prior criminal record.
He pleaded guilty to breaching his release order (curfew) in connection with an incident on March 13, 2025, in Woodstock; guilty to break and enter at a dwelling house, theft of a TV, and breach of probation for the break-in at Connell Park between April 8 and April 16, 2024, and driving while suspended on Nov. 7, 2024.
He also pleaded guilty to theft from the Woodstock Superstore on March 24, 2024, and theft from the Vie Thrift Boutique on April 13, 2024. A mischief charge was also laid for an incident on Jan.2, 2024, when a window was broken at a residence on Connell Street. He pleaded guilty.

Woodstock Police laid all the charges. Kilcollins appeared in court in custody in March and waived his bail.
During sentencing, Crown Prosecutor Sean Corscadden told the court that Killcollins ’crime spree revealed “a pattern of behaviour that demonstrates high moral culpability.” He said Kilcollins and a female co-accused entered the camper trailer at Connell Park, slept there, and stole a TV inside. He also repeatedly went into local stores to grab and steal merchandise.
Defence Counsel Alex Carleton explained that substance abuse was the root of the problem for his client. He said Kilcollins went on a spree to feed his addiction, and most of his offences were just petty crimes.
As for the break-in, Carleton said Killcollins and a female co-accused were “squatting” in the camper trailer for a few days and stole the TV during the commission of the offence. The owner checked his video surveillance, and Woodstock Police caught them at the scene.
