Mayor says event reinforces town’s commitment to compassion, equality, global harmony
The Town of Woodstock invites residents and community members to join Mayor Jeff Wright in recognizing the United Nations International Day of Peace on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Connell House.
As part of the celebration, the Town will also host the unveiling of a Peace Pole, a symbol of peace and a reminder of our shared responsibility to promote peace, understanding, and harmony within the community and around the world.
The United Nations established International Peace Day in 1981 to celebrate and reinforce peace within communities and across all nations.
“As our country, province and town continue to develop and change peace is more important now than it has ever been,” said Wright.
“Everyone deserves compassion, equality, and dignity, and the Town of Woodstock is proud to participate in International Peace Day.”
Wright and the Town of Woodstock encourage residents to come together as a community and take a moment to recognize the importance of peace both locally and around the world.
