Early morning social media post alerted public to situation on Beechwood Road

An early morning social media post by the New Brunswick RCMP announced that officers were currently on scene at Beechwood Road in Beechwood for a ‘police operation.’ The notice was posted after 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 10. Then, after 8 a.m., the RCMP reported their operation was concluded.

During the operation, residents in the area report a heavy police presence, including officers in SWAT or tactical gear.

“At this time, the situation does not meet the criteria for an Alert Ready message,” said the notice on the RCMP’s Facebook page when the public was first alerted. “We will share more information when we are able to.”

It’s not known if any arrests were made.
