Sept. 20 event in Florenceville-Bristol to raise funds for Sanctuary House
To increase awareness of gender-based violence, there will be a ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes’ community fundraising walk on Saturday, Sept. 20, in Florenceville-Bristol.
All money raised will go to Sanctuary House, a regional shelter that supports abused women and their children.
The walk will run from the Florenceville-Middle School to the Northern Carleton Civic Centre, and starts at 11 a.m. You are encouraged to register online, but if you need to register the morning of the walk, please arrive early.
Men of all ages are invited to walk on behalf of friends and family who are victims or survivors of gender-based violence. Women and children are also welcome to participate. Shoes will be available at registration. Registration costs $20.
