One woman arrested, another remains in hospital

Woodstock Police arrested a local woman after an alleged stabbing in downtown Woodstock on Monday, Oct. 20.

Destiny Dawn Innis, 23, of Woodstock, appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court in custody via teleconference on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

She was charged with assault causing bodily harm involving a female victim following a violent altercation at a downtown residence on Monday night. Woodstock Police, the Woodstock Fire Department, and Ambulance New Brunswick were called to a home on Houlton Street just before 9 p.m.

The victim was transported to the Upper River Valley Hospital and later transferred to the Saint John Regional Hospital with serious injuries. No update on her condition was provided in court.

Innis was remanded to jail to await a bail hearing on Oct. 23 at 9:30 a.m. More charges may be pending. Innis was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
