Woodstock brothers earn EMCA nomination, record in Nashville
Nashville is looking at a lot more Carleton County these days, thanks to the Woodstock country duo, The Martin Boys.
Since winning second place on season five of Canada’s Got Talent in May 2025, brothers Macauley and Micah Martin have been busy networking, songwriting, and recording. Since October 2025, they have been to “Music City”, or Nashville, three times.
“We’ve been there writing some songs with some fellow Canadians, and we’ve also been there recording a whole bunch of songs, too, along with doing some networking and some content filming as well,” said Macauley.
Micah says this year will be a big one for their music. They plan to hit every corner of Canada from spring through fall and hopefully perform in the U.S. The younger brother also hinted at new music they’re “keen on putting out.”
When asked about official dates and locations for shows, Macauley says they have to keep the details secret for now. Before they get too busy, however, the two said they would love to perform a couple of shows in Woodstock.
“Right now, we have to keep our shows a bit of a secret. We have some big opportunities coming that we’re excited to share. For now, we can tell people just to keep an eye out and follow our social media account for updates,” said Macauley.
The pair shared that they will perform at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival in July.
On Jan. 28, the Martin Boys were nominated for an EMCA, East Coast Music Award, in the category Country Music Release of the Year, for their EP Burn the Boats.
The two shared their excitement and appreciation for their first EMCA nomination.
“It’s honestly a huge honour and blessing for the two of us. We’ve been working really hard the last year at getting our names out there and getting our music seen to as many people as possible,” said Macauley.
“It means a lot to see that our hard work is paying off. We’re hoping that if we keep working at this, then eventually this EMCA nomination will turn into a CCMA nomination and then maybe someday even a CMA,” added Micah.
Moving forward in their careers, the pair say they are excited about the opportunities that are coming their way and happy to do what they love for a living.
“I remember this old saying that I heard when I was younger, ‘If you love what you do, then you’ll never work a day in your life.’ And I believe that to be true. The two of us just want to be able to make music and so what we love. And right now, we’re living that dream,” said Macauley.
